“Can I define "box" or "boundaries"? OK...let's give it a whirl: Perhaps it's the refusal to see past the concepts of "faith" or "belief" themselves...the denial that there just might actually be another explanation for the feelings that these things engender in humans.

Do I really "believe in" those who control things? Goodness, no, I don't "believe in them"...that would be counterproductive, indeed! I don't need to "believe in them"...I have observed them in action, and I act according to my observations and my own internal moral compass.

Why do I act according to my observations and internal moral compass instead of "believing"? Many reasons. People who cling to "belief" and "faith" are refusing to see that those are the very things which keep humanity in chaos and chains, the things which were designed to keep humanity from achieving its true potential, to keep each person from being able to see the true nature of reality. Humanity grabs onto "belief" and "faith" with a vicelike grip. Why? Because it's easier than imagining what the true nature of reality might be.

Perhaps when the concepts of "belief" and "faith" are finally released from the stranglehold with which the masses grasp them, humanity will finally be released from the grasp of the darkness that "faith" and "belief" have cast over it”

“gee...running out of "reply" room...

Well, Daniel Brooks, your statement about there being "more than anyone is prepared to comprehend" says mucho!

There are some in the world who are "more prepared to comprehend" than other. Your statements, again, limit you to your own "box" and you seem to be unable to try and see past the boundaries of it. Those who control things are counting on that.”

“Deal is, your statements box you in and limit you to still putting everything off on "something bigger that knows better" than you.

I've seen that "something."

I wasn't impressed.”

“I would submit that what is interpreted as "religious experience" is simply the opening up of shut-down emotion by an unexpected stimulus. The shut-down individual, not having any sort of framework by which to judge this experience, will generally cling to or gravitate toward a "religious" explanation for it, rather than take it for what it is.

If humans were not taught from the beginning of their existence that they are "fallen" and need "redemption" all this nonsense wouldn't exist.”

“"3500 years of abstract thought" that has been geared toward destroying humanity's collective ability to think and feel and explore on any level other than the physical. Geared toward making all humans feel "less than" and "unworthy" and "fallen"...geared toward making all humans feel as though there MUST be something "bigger" than they that "knows better" than they.

It's a scam, man. A control device.

Religion is nothing but slavery.”

Daniel Brooks on Dec 4, 2009 at 17:01:46

“You are free to believe, or disbelieve, whatever you will. So is everyone else. Just be careful not to paint yourself into a corner with today's conclusions. Maybe tomorrow you'll find an idea that changes everything you think today . . . Who knows?

As Shakespeare so masterfully wrote: "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."”

“Some observations:

1) The "being filled with The Spirit" thing that "evangelicals" feel is nothing more than their extremely repressed and shut-down emotions being triggered by the cadence of the "ministers" and the music. These people are so shut-down by the repressed teachings they follow that when their emotive centers are "opened" by these triggers, they feel overwhelmed and think "Surely, this must be G*d!"

2) The entire idea of "Faith" is simply a cop-out, a sloughing-off of personal responsibility for your own ideas, thoughts, and actions. Humans are taught "Faith" to keep them from realizing that they are truly capable of whatever they can dream. They would be able to realize these dreams if they were taught to do so, rather than taught to have "Faith" that "G*d" would take care of them.”

“Hey...that's MY line! ;-)

Seriously: Religion must be eradicated for any sort of true human progress to be made.

Religion is the most vile hoax that has ever been perpetrated on mankind since time began.

What if "religion" and "god" were simply diversions and constructs that an alien race has used to control us from our very beginnings? That makes more sense to me than any of these heinous "religious" explanations.

It's time for religion to GO!”

“At its root, the entire idea of "insurance" is nothing but a ludicrous con game.

The whole "health care industry" is a scam. Doctors should not ever have been given the power and status they have been handed all these years. A healer should be a part of the community, not some sort of demi-god who is thought of as "better than" and treated like royalty.
