“Cool! You know the "facts". I suggest contacting the Justice Dept post haste; they need to hear from you.

So it was Armitage, eh? He wasn't a volunteer Fall Guy? Not Wilson himself? Not Bush/Cheney? Cheney/Bush weren't at all concerned about what Wilson had written about the real reasons for invading Iraq, the whole shift to outing Wilson's wife was just a happy coincidence? How did you cut through that particular knot, one wonders.

The public doesn't know the "facts". And that says a great deal about the Bush/Cheney administration.”

“Not giving wiki any credence, but there are thousands of Federal bureaucrats who have "more Federal government work" experience than Obama. Which of them shall we elect President?

You're defending the indefensible.”

“You need some perspective here. And some logic. Ms Cheney was spewing complete nonsense, again, as if the Bush Administration never happened.

Did you mean any of the President's speeches or the Nobel acceptance speech? Did you hear his speech and, if so, what do you think needed to be "fact checked"? Try to make sense.

And did you call George Bush (either one) "B" or do you just use the diminutive with Obama? Gee, I wonder why.....”

“Were you being forced to write an article? And this was the best you could do?

Most toys are junk. Some are fun junk, some not. No kids, eh?

Hate styrofoam myself, but disposable dinner ware, cheap, certainly makes a large party easier. Or one could just go our and buy 50 plates and 100 glasses. And wash them. And store them. Sure.

Multiples on flashlights and reading glasses? Great idea! Even if one person does not have use for all of them, some of us have friends to share with.

Nope, not a good job here.”

“I don't recall anyone saying "planned". I do recall the ignoring of evidence as passed along by the Clinton Administration. ("There, you've covered your a$$" report). I even know that the investigation of Hassan' and his e-mail buddy started last year during Bush's administration; so who gets absolved by your logic?

And even Liberals have questioned Obama about the wars, the economy, and a whole lotta other things starting this summer. Which was before September.

And absolutely NONE of that is an excuse to say what she said. Her comment was at best moronic.”

Oooops.

I was always amused by that notion, as if in ten or fifteen years someone would say, "Remember whe those planes crashed into the WTC?" And someone would reply, "No, refresh my memory."

It seems I was wrong........”

An American Idol pre-fab pop star chooses to go all obvious and edgy (oooo) -- while staying true to his "Is It Still The '80's?" persona. Hey, the staging took attention away from his mediocre talent. And he got to capitalize on his orientation.

Had no clue it would cause controversy? He was counting on it.”

“From your link:
"Fifty-five percent of all Iowa residents, including Democrats, hold an unfavorable opinion of Palin, according to the poll, while only 8 percent say they are unsure about her. " What were the choices? Only Pro, Con, & Unsure? Was there a Neutral? The information is incomplete and therefore pretty meaningless.

Lies, dam (sic) lies, and statistics, as Mark Twain said; they can be used to "prove" most points. How many people in Iowa identify themselves as Republicans? That "as many as 68%" (is that like 'discounts up to 75%'?) does mean "as much as 68%" of XX% of the population.

The number shrinks.........”

Commented Nov 19, 2009 at 13:00:48 in Media

“The Tort Reform MadLib is a way to make the arguement against health care reform sound more reasonable. Unfortunately, the facts don't substantiate the claim that tort reform will have a major impact on health costs:

There hasn't been a big (or any) drop in medical costs in the states that have modified their tort laws, or maybe those patients just lost legal rights but din't gain lower costs? Medical malpractice claims, inflation-adjusted, are down 45 percent since 2000. Yet there has been no corresponding drop in health-care costs. Medical malpractice premiums are less than half of one percent of the country’s overall health care costs. Medical malpractice claims are a mere one-fifth of one percent of health care costs and at no time in more than 30 years have premiums and claims have never been greater than 1% of our nation’s health care costs. Medical malpractice insurer profits are higher than the rest of the property casualty industry, which has been remarkably profitable over the last five years. So Conservatives are upset about lawyers' profits but are quite happy about the insurance companies'?”

“I'll see your snide nitpick and raise you:

There is no evidence that Marie Antoinette ever said the oft-quoted phrase. It was a common theme even when she was a nipper. Rousseau used it in his writings, for example.

Had she said it, she would not have used the word brioche (bun), but gateaux (cake).

Careful when you attack anyone's "education"; yours might be showing as well.”

I had no clue that there would be a single reader that would know the real story. Congrats... (BTW... I didn't know about the Rousseau connection, thanks for that!).”
