The old guard is so terrified that he is even there, that they will stop at nothing to stop him. This country needs to step back a second, and ask them selves why an entire portion of it can dinigrate the Office of the President the way it has, and still call them selves Americans.”

“Has to be some way to interfere with those checks. See how many true believers there are when the checks stall. NOt saying take them away, that would be wrong. but slow them down, and then put them in different envelopes that have an explanation on them about where it comes from.

“Seems like they got Terry Randall on the same issue. They can prosecute, before the fact, for murder. We have free speech, but you still can't advocate murder in this country, regardless what the hard right thinks.”

“The past is not secret. We've all seen it clearly enough in the photos that have been released. We do not need to further inflame the mases with additional proof that we, as a country, failed to be as good as our claims.”

“I can't fault the Pres for stopping the release of the photos. And if he breaks promises made, so be it. There is an old idiom that says if we don't learn from the past, we are destined to repeat it. Broken promises are a fact of his office. Hard liners, get over it. We all had expectations of him working things out so we got everything we wanted. Actually they are different, for each of us, across the board.

He is dealing with the most obstinate group of people the world has ever known. Our own congress. If ever there were a more self centered group, I don't know about it. What concerns me the most, is the fickle nature of so many out here that insist if he doesn't do everything he said he would, he's no good. Hogwash. No Pres has ever done it, none ever will. It's the learning process that we must look to. The past is the past, and we can't change it. HOwever, we must learn from it. If we don't, it won't really matter who sits in the chair. He's not re-writing history, he'smaking it. I, for one, am damn glad he's the one making the effort.”

“If ever i've heard a tortured soul........bush and his minions have made a travesty of our ideals, our system of laws, our humanity, and yet he lives. Would that we could swap that admistration for the lives of people so wrongly accused, so wrongly imprisoned. Would that we could, with the stroke of a pen, right the wrongs so blatantly displayed before us. We can't, but we also can not forget. Not ever.

This can not happen again, for any reason, least of all for the rantings of a little child doing the job of a man. This is not cowboy bob time. This is not toy guns and bang bang sounds. This is real, and reality seems to be just another failure to these people. We jump so readily to help those in need, those who are worse off an we are. How then, can we turn a blind eye to those that for whatever reason, have been dumped into this illigitimate quagmire? The minions of power have done their job well. Fear. Even as a lie, is still the strongest motivator they have. Can you feel the fear in that letter?”
