Obama's New Nuclear Plan Leaves Missiles On Hair Triggers

Obama's New Nuclear Plan Leaves Missiles On Hair Triggers

Commented Apr 7, 2010 at 16:25:25 in Politics

“The policy adds nor subtracts anything. The history of nuclear weapons is that since world war two, if one had the weapons, they do not use them. Period. Truman and Eisenhower did not use them in Korea. Johnson and Nixon did not use them in Vietnam. They were not used by Eisenhower or Kennedy in regard to Cuba. Think the US is too nice? The Soviets did not use them in Agfghanistan. The French did not use them in Algeria or Vietnam. Israel did not use them in several wars. Britian didn't use them in the Faulklands. India and Pakistan skirmish but do not fire their nukes. Having them means never using them. Stating this as a policy does not change the reality that already exists.”

njposter40 on Apr 7, 2010 at 16:44:40

“You are missing the point! None of the examples you gave included an attack by a weapon of mass destruction on the nuclear country's soil! What Obama is saying is that if a rogue state were to use chemical and biological weapons on US soil he would not retaliate with nuclear weapons. Thus, if state-sponsored terrorists from Somalia (or wherever) unleashed a chemical weapon killing a million Americans, Obama is claiming that he would not order a nuclear strike in retaliation....why would he be stupid enough to tell the world that, even if that was what his policy is...why let them know??!!”

“Obama campaigned hard on eliminating the $12 Billion a month spent on Iraq War, as a complete waste of money. McCain campaigned on spending the $12 Billion for another 100 years. The Obama budget spends $300 Billion on the Iraq and Afgahn Wars. That's 3 Times the money Bush was wasting. No benefit to the American people. The chinese are spending $267 Billion on the world's fastest bullet train. We spend it to remake Afghanistan. Bush gets a third term.”

McChrystal's "Confidence Job" on Carl Levin and Al Franken

Commented Jan 18, 2010 at 09:53:23 in World

“McChrystal has already rolled Obama and the Dems. He got appointed & after giving Obama his opinion in private, he spoke pub;licly in Europe to lock in Obama's actions. Obama got rolled and went along with doubling down in Afganistan. As per the army's own anti-insurgency policy, it would take over 500,000 troops to prevail. Or we could just pay tribute-ala "the Sunni Awakening" in Iraq-which costs $250,000 per month per 10 square miles-in bribes. The US will fare in Afganistan exactly the same at the British in the 19th century and the Russians in the 20th century.”

“The Bill is a giant benefit to the Health Insurance Companies and the Drug Companies and of no benefit to actual people. The Exchanges are a joke (ever hear of networks) and won't be used in real life. The Unions caved on the tax? Why was that, anyway? The only real benefit to real people was the proposed Medicare Buy-In and when Joe the Bummer objected, Rahm got Harry to scrap it. Why was that? Whose in charge here, any way? I hope Brown wins, the Dems loose their 60th seat, the Bill goes down, Lieberman gets kicked out of the causus, Obama wakes up and stops being Bush-Lite, and it wouldn't hurt if he would fire Blackwater, already.”

“When nominated for vice, Joe the Bummer had 2 jobs. Beat Shooter in the debate and deliver Florida. In the dbate, he played footsie with Dick and he lost Florida. He then proceeded to hug and kiss, yes friends, kiss, Bush. He then went on to be Sancho Panza to McCain's Don Quixote, tilting at any windmill in sight. The Kyle-Liberman Amendmant was designed to be the Iran Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, but Bush backed out. He trashed Obama at the Republican convention. And they let him keep his chairmanship and senority. He may have kissed Bush, but he didn't kiss Obama or Reid before he, well, nevermind. Maybe after the Dems loose the Senate seat in Mass and Joe isn't the 60th vote, they'll man up and kick him out of the caucus. He can always work at Fox News.”

“Lieberman is a petty, vindictive little boy who is pissed off at the Dems for not giving him the respect he seems to think he deserves. IMHO, the only respect he deserves is not being kicked (literally not figuratively) when he is removed from his Chairmanship as well as the Democratic caucus.”
Obama's Afghanistan Strategy Has Echoes Of Bush

Obama's Afghanistan Strategy Has Echoes Of Bush

Commented Dec 2, 2009 at 15:45:40 in Politics

“Not only does Obama sound like Bush Lite, he sounds like recycled LBJ and Nixon. The tapes and history show that neither LBJ nor Nixon believed what they said about the troop buildups and the anticipated results. Bush, of course, did not believe the stated, but disingenuous, reasons for his wars nor the predicted results of bringing democracy to the middle east. Obama is at least as well informed as the above and he doesn't believe his own rhetoric either. The question that was never asked in the months of Obama's deliberations: If we were not now in country, would we now invade with 100,000 troops? The answer is the reason that the question was never posed.”
