Turn Goldman Anger Into Government Action

“My Republican father was against the holding of gold because it didn't create jobs as stocks do. Wonder how upset he would be today with banks making money on money and not creating anything.”

“I agree Arianna. If I had a sister or daughter I wold love to have Van as family. If she was inclined to marry Glen Beck I would happily spend the rest of my days in prison. Glen does positive things as you noted. He gives Senator Joe Mc Carthy the position of more tolerant. Ann Colter more intellectually honest. Bill O'Riley more newsworthy. Rush more sober. Joe the Plumber more educated.”

“But it is a big cycle it buys influence. How often do you see newspapers cover hospital disasters. Locally Maalox or Gelusil was connected to an IV line not much mention in the press. There is an epidemic of MRSA coming out of the Emergency Rooms which I tell patients to avoid like the plague only go with bleeding chest pain shortness of breath

“As a country doctor of 45 years amen, except the PSA I have more people hit by lightning than dying frrom prostate cancer.
I tell of living through three phases of medicine the profession till the 1980s the business through 1995 and the racket it is now.
The 3600 dollar back injections that are totally useless but allow addicts to get oxycontion are a way to identify drug dealers not doctors. Dialysis on patients that are brain dead. You can tell what the rackets are by how big the adds are inthe local papers.
If you banned advertising and spent that money on care might just cover the uninsured.
I think we have to reform election law before real health care reform is possible.”

“YES! Ban pharmaceutical advertising. It is, and has always been, a way to drive up sales of drugs with little or not merit by bypassing the (usually informed) and appealing to the (usually uninformed). Even the pretense of public awareness has been dropped.”

“My question is how do I find a Dr like yourself who is honest and sensible when I move to a new location? I don't know who to trust. Obviously some people are happy to be part of the current racket, but I practice prevention on my own. I'd like to be able to get a check up or know where to go if I were to get sick (so far so good - and no signs of any problems soon that I can't manage myself). Maybe Drs like yourself could get a network thing going (or does one already exist?) where people could know who they are and be able to find the kind of Dr that promotes health (changing your diet, doing certain exercises, etc) instead of doing a lot of the things you mentioned (back injections,PSAs, etc).”

They are supporting the people who rob us the best and without any weapon. These people stick us up every single day. Then they never pay their honest debts. The poor guy pays me 50 bucks for an office call the insurance companies demand I take 24 bucks. What a system.”

“I vote for Roger on this one we had reporters in Vietnam with us in the field. Facing an Iranian prison and torture most reporters were good boys and stayed in their offices. Im so glad Roger went out and listened to the screams. Ernie Pyles are getting rarer and hard to come by. So we may be stuck with grainy cell phone video in the future. Perhaps news orginazations should hire more old guys.”

“I, too, am glad Roger went out and stood with the people of Iran to add his voice to theirs, to experience first-hand the fear, the sounds, the smells, and to come back and share his perspective. Cohen has repeatedly written beautifully about Iran in attempts to humanize the country, often in ways that don't make him a whole lot of friends. He may be a dinosaur, a dusty old field reporter, but I don't think that what he did was without value.
His street-level reporting doesn't diminish the remarkable reporting done here or the eyewitness reporting of the Iranians themselves. Cohen's beef is primarily with a good number of the mainstream media outlets that played it safe by planting their talking heads in front of a laptop running Nico's blog and didn't bother to send out their own eyewitnesses to a compelling, historic event.”

“America is the three monkeys. We spend billions on Chiropractic which was started by a pig farmer. The African witch doctor has exactly the same results with back pain . Its 3 weeks if not compensable and 3 years if money is involved.
We beleive narcotic drugs will help when they do initally but for a short period then they become the problem.
We want a pill to do the work we are not motivated to do like diet exercise and healthy mental outlook.
We dont want rationing but no one pays for keeping grandpa on dialysis or life support if he is neurovegatative. If the goverment or insurance pays we say screw the economy and grandsons job.
We will need at least a two tier system with one for the practical and one for the life at all costs group at least.”

“Before I go to a doctor I see a chiropractictioner and let me tell you, he was sent from heaven.
I had a saetic nerve problem in my right leg and it was so painful I thought I have to saw the leg off.
He fixed it. After a car hit mine in the rear and I did not seek medical attention nor claim any,
I was unable to lift my head off the pillow 6 months later and he fixed that. Now a doctor would have put me through all kinds of tests and then loaded me down with pills. So don't knock chiropractioners, they are heaven sent. But I do miss Germany's healthcare coverage, was shocked to learn the USA did not have such coverage and yet wants to be Number ONE in the world.”
