“I am really sorry to hear you have lost your sister.  That has to be very hard to endure.  I would pray that you are able to forgive sooner than later.  Holding on to the hate which is poisson to the soul will keep festering and poison you within.  At such a young age, I had known this to be the truth.  The greater spirit will come to you in time and hopefully the perpetraor will pay for his crime3s aga9nst your sister.  I almost lost my sister w hen she was 13 and I was sixteen.  I know suicided is a permaneant sulution to a atemporarray problem.  No one has to live with shame.  It truly is freeing to get it off the chest provided that those that have done misdeeds pay for their crimes.   I care.  I am growing up and you will do the same.  ”

“This is why we have to return to the old ways of raising all livestocks, the animals need to get out of CAFO as that is overcrowding and unsanitary living conditions for us to eat. Its a no wonder that disease proliferates these days. Ancient ways of raising is the healthiest way for good nourishment. They all need fresh air and natural diets as had been provided by nature's wisdom. These evil corporates don't care about anyone's health at all but their bottom like in dollars. We are def screwed. The time now is to revert to older ways of raising in humane conditions. write letters to those that represent us and shout loudly that things need to be changed for the betterment of humanity before we all become zombies and have diseases that will be uncurable. I get emails often for signing petitions. I also make phone calls wehre need be.”

“I too was sexually abused as a child by teen boys when I had to go to deaf summer camp. The counselors did no good to make sure all kids are in presence and watched. It was their resposnibiolity. It saddens me to see another victim. I never came out and told anyone till back in 91 what had happened to me to my mom and counselors. I now to this day have flashbacks and pray that all of these things stop. I don't want to see another victim. It had never accurred to me death was an answer as a chhild. I had grown up to be forgiving and have no hate to perpetraitors. Its prevelant in news one hears of suicide and he contemplated. He does not have the hart of iron to overcome this but years of therapy will have to be done. I pray he can regain his resiliency to do good things for himself growing up.”

“I am sorry for what you went through. If I had been there I would have protected you. I had a sister that I tried to protect from abuse. Most of the time my efforts worked. Sometimes not. She killed herself at 16. I was 17. It takes along time to heal, but in everything, support, and time, are key.
I am glad you are a survivor. In my case I didn't forgive....I remembered. I made sure to remember. I had a lot of hate. Sad to say...it kept me going. But as n adult, it became a problem. I had to work out my anger, more for what they did to my sister than to me. I am still working on forgiveness. Right now, acceptance of it all is the most I can do. I know forgiveness is supposed to 'set me free", but I can't still. maybe someday.
I am glad you told people what happened to you. That is a huge step, because in doing so you shift the "blame and shame" on the person who did it to you, and you no longer have to carry it. It's their shame, not yours. That is a good thing.”

“I got to say that we have bright minds worldwide that want to advance betterment for the world. It is a great thing that we are having better technologies. Some people are apathetic in not wanting to do anything thus being considered lazy and not caring but to stay with the same old destructive technology regarding the use of petroleum products which is polluting to say the least and will run out eventually. The time now is to keep making advancement with those that care enough to really come up with new techniques. Change is hard for some to consider other resources and advancements. It is great that we have a pool of people from other nations to pool their ideas together. No need to bash other world cultures. After all, we are a nation of many cultures and is being asimimulated into wondrous ideas for advancements. I am happy that we are doing this for the betterment of the world.”

“You don't want to have those canned goods that have been produced in the last 10 or even 20 years as they have lined those cans with BPA. It is a hormone disrupter and does leach out in the foods. If we can do away with using BPAs, then it definitely will do us better. Too much health problems are found with use of it. Some brands are doing away with the use, especially organic ones as they have found that it is a problem with leachings.”

“I buy organic pop corn from bulk bins too. I never liked the microwave route but I can suggest one way to do it on the stove is to use Coconut Oil. Stir the kernals in the oil so its well coated. It is to die for with most excellent taste and flavor. This is the way I prefer the best, way better than olive oil on the stove. With a bit of pink or Himalayan Salt, most excellent popcorn without all the harmful additives being used nowadays. Try it.”

I had a therapist tell me that instead of PTSD, there is PTG, Post Traumatic Growth. I am learning how to change what had happened to me numerous times into how I can deal with life's challenges with resiliency like this study shows. “Very well said. This is all senseless, let the filthy rich pay less and the poor go without basic necessities for life. I say cut the military cause we all need to live in peace, make corporates pay more taxes and no subsidy for them, plus let those in government go wtthout those we4ll paid wages and benefits. Why are those that are elderly , poor and more having to starve, have more babies that they can't afford to feed while cutting birth control methods. They do not have their logic in place whereby they don't see the consequences of their actions today. The more sensibile plan is to stop subsidizing coprorates with huge bloated wages and perks.”

anitaportrichey on May 11, 2012 at 07:21:04

“While we do need a well equiped military to keep our Nation and citizens safe, it does appear time to cut back as we have ended President Bush's folly in Iraq, and will be winding down activity in Afghanistan. That alone should reduce their needs.

And there are quite a few areas of waste in the military. Like where 2 engines are buildt for every one plane. The military have said that they do not need or want two engines. However, when the Democrats tried to stop this practice, the Republicans blocked it.

And why is so much military activity given to cilvilian companies? Why can't the troops be trained to do such tasks? Clearly the Republicans would block such action for it puts money into their own handslike Mr Cheney, or into the hands of their friends.

Some corporate subsidy can be good when we want to encourage certain new industries like solar power. But, once they are functing well on their own, those government benefits should end.

But again, the Republicans block taking away aid from huge profit making companies like oil companies because it puts more money into their own pockets and the pockets of their friends.

We need a government who works for the majority of people rather than the special interests!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

We are headed in wrong directions and more and more people will succumb to bad air, bad food growing businesses, bad water, bad stewarts of the earth. It is time to take action to make your voice count. I encourage you to do your part if you care about your next 7 generations. I know I do as I am a grandma to 2 beautiful grandkids and shudder to think that the times will be so bad that we will have to rely on using masks to breathe in and take out polluted air. We can develop other energy sources to preserve our enviroment now. Do it.”

There is no lawsuits to remedy the situation with poisoning our much beloved pets. The dog was actually my service dog to hear for me. I had a Lab pup that was so allergic to commercial foods and I fed her raw diet. I do not htat that dog anymore. My two cats, the older one at age 4 turns up her nose at people food and won't eat anything I give her, the younger one at age 9 mos now loves fresh baked organic salmon, yogurts and organic chicken. I will do a search to feed them the BARF diet casue I want my cats to stay around for a long time. I intend to do the same when I get a service dog.”

The point is to get right back up and try, try, try agian to succeed whatever adversaries or dreams or goals you may have. I have been blown away by the wisdom of this philosophy as I had taken up this faith as part of my life. It is innate in some of us, not sure what percentage wise it would be. I chant as part of my practice to call upon the mystc law of the universe to create catalyst for changes and going for many more new challenges. I am eager to learn more and share with ohters so they too can go for whatever their heart desires.”

I find that my forward motions are stopped due to pancreatic issues due to harmful drugs. Docs don't care that they can push these harmful evil pharmaceucital drugs on people creating great illnesses.”

“donnamae -- You make some good points here, but not all doctors are "script happy pushers." Matter of fact, many of us especially with chronically painful diseases are UNDER treated because of those who are indeed the "happy pushers." We are made to suffer because laws have to be strenghened constantly. You are obviously not seeing doctors who are trying to treat you, just like many seem to throw pills at it. For some of us, that's NOT always the case. One cannot treat MS, Neuropathy, nor Spinal Stenosis without medications. They're a necessary evil at times. Seems that somehow you fell in with the wrong doctor or wrong group of doctors. NOT EVERY medication is "evil" and I am sorry you have had bad experiences. Without medications, I woudn't be here, much less be functioning, so every case is different. Seems to me that you need new doctors who will tackle whatever probem(s) you have rather than JUST throw meds at it. I actually HATE taking pills at all, but I LOVE life, so to keep myself in remission, I'll choose taking the meds. I wish you all the best.”

Gizmo9 on Apr 29, 2012 at 08:53:46

“Your body's natural instinct is to heal. You need to support your immune system by healthy diet and eliminating toxins {drugs included} from your body. Eliminating stress is also very helpful. Look into some alternative treatment and watch everything you are putting into your body and think is this going to harm or help me to heal. Stay away from food that causes acidity in your system. Alkaline food like vegetables and fruits are very helpful. I drink a large glass of water with the juice of lime every morning to get my system alkaline right from the start and later I have carrot, spinach, beet and parsley juice before I have lunch.
I know it is not for everybody but I do not like going to doctors and I will try anything to avoid them.”

I had lived less than a moile or two from that location and would not ever see any bats around to eat these suckign critters when I go outdoors to tend to my garden. I too am a magnet babe for skeeters. I would have to apply OFF and similar stuff but am hesitant to use them anymore as they are unsafe to use over a long peirod of time. It is not women's or even young girls fault they get raped. Men need to learn respect and not take advantage of them for their own selfish hormonal needs. We do have to prosecute these perpetuators so that young men will respect and not victimize women anymore. Throw them in jail and make them pay for their crimes. In the meantime, some women and girls have to live with PTSD and fearful of being raped again. Some are not able to discharge those painful memories. We do need still penalties for these crimes.”
