“No, they don't have to 'take the backlash' from anyone, including you. It is their democratic right to protest bigotry and to spend their money as they wish. Just like you and me.
If you don't like what others do, you have the right to turn a deaf ear, and perhaps you would reflect on what it would be like to live in a world that is biased against you.”

“Let me tell you that they will have to learn to take the backlash because that is exactly the type of world we live in and it will get worse as time rolls on.
There are millions of people in this world who have faced bigots through their lives and yet you very seldom hear them complain...They learn to take it and move on.
Unfortunately gay people appear to be attention seekers especially in these last years. The louder their voice the more attention they get and that is exactly what their strategy is to win equal rights for this and that...and this is why the news reports are filled with stories about them daily.
We even have teenagers in high schools
that gather in groups of race the Spanish kids against the Italian kids or the Irish kids against the Scottish kids. Yet you never hear these young teenagers complain and make these issues public.
They deal with it and move on with their lives.
Just imagine how many millions of people would be lining up in this next short while to claim this and that about
the bias that they all suffer and have suffered in their lives...Wouldn't that be some sight.
If you are going to fight for justice for gays be fair and fight for all injustice for everyone.”

“Although the Star is entitled to publish this story, I have yet to see it there. First I saw it on the 11pm CityNews channel last night, after seeing a notice in the comments section of the Toronto Sun. Both of those media are hardly perceived as 'to the left'.
Pretty well ALL of the Toronto news outlets are tracking Ford's 'faux pas', which you may know but pretend otherwise? My guess is they all know something that hasn't come out yet.”

“New York magazine has also picked it up and the comments there just make me cringe. We are all being judged by this man's behaviour and it's not a flattering picture at all.”

“since when was having fun with other toronto residents a faux pas? You lefties are funny. We will give Ford another term next year. just wait and see.”

“Without Toronto, ..... let me start again. Without arrogant Torontonians like your comment conjures, the country....and the city..... would be much better off.
Your comment is an embarrassment to decent citizens of our fair city and it's no surprise that you're a supporter of our inept mayor.”
“If you do, I suggest you watch it with a critical eye. And never forget what happened in Sedona. Also, read up on cult-like leaders who sell their 'knowledge' as being fact. I'm not suggesting that Ray led a cult, but he certainly used a lot of their tactics.”

“Wright is very wealthy. $90,000 is a drop in the bucket to people like him. Check his bio.”

“Unfortunately, this does not assuage my concerns. Keeping over $90K in a simple savings account seems VERY anti-conservative. If he is as rich as all that, he didn't get so by keeping his money in a low interest savings account. People with that kind of wealth like to have their money making money. Are we seriously supposed to believe he just has that kind of money laying around?”
