“According the the article, he knowingly or unknowingly collected some objects illegally so therefore the government took everything. How many out there are well versed in treaties regarding collection of such items?”
“In two years of unemployment, one can earn any number of degrees, spending less than 40 hours a week to do so, while making oneself marketable. Education should be a requirement of any further bail out.”

“People are not allowed to collect unemployment if they are attending any sort of schooling.”

“And how does one pay for these degrees if they are unemployed?”
“I did to, $78 but my premiums went up $400 a year. Reality will hit you square in face by 2016, and that is what it will take for you to wake up and face reality. That is, when it hits you at home. You seem to have no ability to see outside of your own situation.”

“The way I understand the bronze plan, you would pay 50% of the 52,000 + 4300. There is probably some max out of pocket that I am unaware of. I have tried to get onto healthcare.gov to get actual charges, but I cannot find them, as they are not clearly delineated, by design, I presume. Certainly, you are correct in that the idea is to keep people out of bankruptcy, but the president and dems have spent a lot of time selling the ACA as a healthcare plan, not an insurance plan and not a catastrophic plan. A whole lot of people out there will expect to get their healthcare for free. Indeed, a recent study stated that only14% understood what a deductible is.”

“There are max out of pocket, but you make some great points on the ignorance about what is insurance is in general. I guess they get by calling it a health plan because of the mandatory 2 free physicals, RX coverage, OB, cancer coverage, etc.”

“A physical exam if you have no problems will not cost you a penny more, but it is not free. Medications, other than generic birth control are not free. In fact, name brand birth control, now is often full price. The plans may be more comprehensive in that they provide pregnancy coverage and dental care for the elderly, among other things, but such care, even if needed, will not be forthcoming without first paying a minimum of $4300 up front, if you have a bronze plan. Example, you have a bronze plan and pay $50 a month in premiums. You break your leg and have a surgery with a $10,000 bill. You will be required to pay your 50% plus your $4300 deductible. Insurance will cover the other $700. You had insurance at $50 a month for 9 months before the accident. The bottom line is the insurance will only be out $250. You will have spent $9750.”

“The ACA is flawed, but the system was even worse before the law's implementation. Its hard to justify being the only industrialized country without socialized medicine. We have the highest cost per capita, and we may have some of the best doctors, but our system and patient outcomes are far from the top.
We have an efficient, established system called medicare. Figure out what it costs per person, change the name and offer that everyone that wants it.
I've worked in emergency medicine for over 15 years, and I'm tired of paying for everyone's freedom not have the government tell them what to do and refuse to be insured.”

“You frame the argument to one particular scenario. To think a person can be sufficiently covered for $50.00 per month is naive. People pay way more for car insurance.
On a side note, most common medical conditions can be treated with generic medications, I'm guessing you may be an OB/GYN, so I can appreciate your view point if you are. Here's another scenario, what about having an acute MI that requires cardiac catherization at $52,000. With the same crappy plan, your paying the first $4,300 and the insurance is picking up the $47,000. Much different story. These low end plans are far from ideal. The goal was to keep people out of bankruptcy.
The high deducible plans at such a low cost are only really there to cover meds, an occasional doctors visit and the catastrophic. Prior to the ACA, when someone paid $50.00 a month, with a $7K deductible, they rolled the dice. If they got hit by a car walking their dog, they would get treatment, and never pay the 7K. If they had 7K to pay the bill, they wouldn't have gotten such a crappy plan to begin with. Everyone else paid for that kid, guy, woman to roll the dice. It's was completely irresponsible.”
“Actually, they have offfered several plans, but none as a whole. Any suggestion made has been omitted by Reid. One of the simplest ideas is to allow purchase of insurance across state lines. Competition lowers prices. Imagine if we had such an arbitrary law that you could only buy a car built in your state? Cars would cost much, much more. Another simple approach is to expand medicaid and to offer subsidies to the poor. A complete takeover of 1/6 of the economy by government officials has to be the worst idea ever imaginable and is proving itself so. Where is the $2500 reduction in premiums promised, the ability to keep your doctor or insurance and the reduction of those without insurance? None is true. Finally, what good is it for a low income worker to be able to afford an insurance premium if he cannot afford to meet the multi thousand dollar deductible before receiving care? Unfortunately, but hopefully, most Obamacare supporters will be forced to realize what a failure this will be.”

and yet try taking it away from anyone and tea party
people will really know what
the 2nd amendment means.
nice try in your comment but as long as insurance companies
dictate what , when and where and how much you and I got NOTHING.”
“President Barack Obama has enrolled in a health care plan under the Affordable Care Act, the White House confirmed Monday.
According to a White House official, Obama selected a bronze plan through the District of Columbia's exchange.
"He was pleased to participate in a plan as a show of support for these marketplaces which are providing quality, affordable health care options to more than a million people," the official said.
While Obama did not physically sign up for the plan himself -- members of his staff did in person, NBC's Peter Alexander reports -- he was involved in selecting the plan. The president will pay for the plan's premiums himself.
Obama's decision to sign up for his signature health care program is entirely symbolic, as the president receives his health care through the military.
Obama promised to sign up for coverage under the law in March 2010, after Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) proposed an amendment to the law requiring the president to do so.
"We think the amendment is unnecessary," then-White House spokesman Reid Cherlin said at the time. "The president will participate in the exchange. But let's be clear: The amendments being offered by Senate Republicans, including this one, are just a ploy to delay the bill."
That is the whole article. It never says Obama will pay out of his own pocket. He sure is not paying for his vacation out of his own pocket.”
“So the American people are paying for an insurance plan that the president, a .1%er, does not even need. That is grand.”

“The American people are not paying for his health insurance anymore than they pay for any federal employee's healthcare insurance. It is deducted from their wages. But to register for a plan through ACA Obama has to drop his federal healthcare insurance that exempted him (as it would for all federal employes having federal healthcare insurance)from ACA.”

“I wish the article stated the whereabouts of the surgeon. Was she notified? Typically, one would take such a patient back to the OR and stop the bleeding, not just give blood in and watch it come back out.”
