“Rachel Maddow had Pat Buchanan on her show quite frequently, calling him her "fake uncle."
Giving her some credit, Rachel Maddown is one of the few broadcasters who don't just sit there while he spews his ignorance and bigotry.
Rachel actually DEBATED him.
Giving this hateful bigot ANY face-time is an affirmation of his out-of-date and always unacceptable roll-back to a time when white men ruled supreme and anyone who opposed them, blacks, Hispanics, Native Americans, women, were routinely called out as being "uppity."
To Buchanan, those who are not men and not white are not showing enough respect should they, according to him and his ilk, having been "handed a gift" of being taken seriously.
To Buchanan, equal rights for all Americans is a charming idea, not rooted in reality.
I get the impression that being "grateful" for symbolic advancement is more important to him than preserving the status quo................................from thirty or more years ago, when relevance of anything anyone other than white men was considered ridiculous.
Surely, having actively prevented anyone but white men from having access to a good education and nurturing and developing anyone else's talent and skills, how dare these groups advance at all? How dare they want more than the scraps that fall from HIS table???
Truly a do-do bird with a really bad combover. The bird is extinct, as should men with ideas like Pat Buchanan and his ilk.”

“My husband and I have two little ones at home. And when they are grown, if they discover they are gay, we would like them to marry the person who makes them happy and content, and not the person the law says they should marry.”

“And to put that from another angle I want my grandsons to know that it is not weird when Gramps marries a man in a couple of years. If this issue was decided fifty years ago and was the norm in the society when I was a youth then the GayGrandpa would only be writing as a gay man. Now don't get me wrong, I love my daughter and grandsons but my sweet ex-wife went through a lot of grief because of my inability to accept my gayness at a young age...we as a society must move forward and be more honest. It is not only fair; it is right!”

“Believe the "crisis climate hype" if you chose to ---but again, its just another in a series of 4 decades of government and media panic , putting fear, hyperventilation, attempting to create mass hysteria and anxiety into the lives of the American people for monetary and politically motivated purposes.
Numerous prominent Atmospheric Scientists and, Climatologists from around the world: Dr. Timothy Ball, Dr. Richard Lindzen, David Evans, Dr Claude Allegre, Bruno Wiskel, Dr. Nir Shaviv, Dr. tad Murty, Dr. Daivd Bellamy, Dr Chris De Freitas, Dr. Reid Bryson, Dr Zbigniew Jaworowski, Dr. boris winerhalter, Dr. Wibjorn Darlen , to name a few --------------as the list of scientist goes on and on......refuting Al Gore -----
If history repeats itself--as it alway does---another crisis will be invented in roughly 5 years-----Maybe again by Al Gore since iIn the 1980's he claims that he invented the internet---- the 1st of his great inventions----his 2nd INVENTION being GLOBAL WARMING!!!!”

“Why attend a conference where everyone agrees? I would want to attend a conference where there was difference of opinion and you could hear both sides arguements and determine which side makes the most sense.
I have read quite a bit on global warming, because I have a lot of interest in learning the arguments of both sides. At this point, the argument that makes the most sense to me is the argument that the Suns activity has the most impact on the temperature on Earth and the surrounding planets. The statistical correlation in that study is hard to refute, and makes sense since the earth relies on the Sun for Warmth.
Common sense aside, would I believe exhaling is warming the planet, maybe somewhat because when i am in a room with a bunch of breathing people it gets warmer, however when you walk outside in winter we could all huddle together and breathe and as much as we want and it doesnt make a hill of beans of difference. Even if we huddled next to a running SUV. So there is just not enough common sense in the CO2 theory to convince me of the legitimacy of that theory, and it is just theory.”

And, yes, the world is getting warmer. Look at where wines are being grown, recently and where the wine grapes are failing, Look at the frog populations around the world, ok, just LOOK.
Or just go on about your dirty life, use tons of gas, and plenty of plastic. Then when your grandchildren are choking and dying, you will note that things changed.”

“Here in Nevada the local economy is circling the drain. Our governor is one of those who put ideology ahead of everything else - won't raise taxes regardless of the awful consequences. If we Nevadans aren't careful we're going to lose at least one community college. We have one of the worst high school drop out rates in the country. And anyone with a college degree leaves because there's no work for them here.”

I live in a nevada border county (which gives you almost Nevada resident tuition, good neighbor policy), and then with a 3.9 gpa in my 2 year college, they were giving out alot of incentives to go there, I doubt they will survive though, love the school but I will be staying in cali”
