CEO's Pay Could Be Partly Determined By Shareholders' Votes
Commented Apr 12, 2008 at 19:16:51 in Business
“This might be a good idea. It would allow people invested in the company to determine what the highest officer in the company would make. This way, if the CEO wants to do well and increase share value in market share they would be duly compensated. The way it stands now, some CEOs have cashed in even though they have run their companies into the ground.”

Study Concludes 'Fat-ism' Is More Widespread Than Racism
Commented Apr 02, 2008 at 12:21:17 in Living
“I think for most people being overweight is the result of several bad decisions. Race is not. I know that when I see an obies person I see a waste of resources. Too much food and water go into getting people that big. I've seen people eat in one sitting more than some african villages. It is also a drain on our health care system in much the same way smoking is. We discriminate against smokers all the time.”
NotMyPrez replied on Apr 02, 2008 at 12:30:11
“It's unfair to discriminate against people who can't help the way they are- but it's like the old joke "I may be fat but you're stupid, at least I can go on a diet."
When you see people that lose 50-100 lbs you have to wonder why everyone isn't trying to do the same.
It boils down to will power. Am I going to have a salad and soup for lunch or am I going to kow tow to my cravings and add a 600 calorie 57 mg of fat burger to my plate?
That's what pisses people off, the excusing of it, the lack of trying. I have a friend who is morbidly obese and I fear for her. SHe has cellulitis now because her obesity affects her circulation. She rasps and wheezes when she walks and talks. She was not always so. When we go out to a diner she eats fried food- bingo! Choices. We have free will people, let's use it.”
