Why Joe Biden Should Resign
Commented Oct 14, 2009 at 16:52:23 in World
“tisk tisk arianna ... since when are you the one to incite infighting?? this is a time when democrats need to be united. i'm sure you understand that to form a united group some parties within that group have to concede for the team. if concessions aren't made, factions withing the group threaten the whole of the group. instead of inciting more infighting within the party and thus giving the perception that the democrats are in disarray, perhaps you should spend more time thinking about how the democrats and the white house can make strides towards a more collective and cooperative course of action.”

Why So Many Pundits Wrongly Scored the Debate 'Even'

“my rule of thumb is "follow the money"
the networks need viewership to get more money, therefore they bring in pundits that attract a certain demographic
these pundits like to be on air and they get paid to be talking heads ... 10 out of 10 times u know what the pundit is going to say before they open their mouth. fair and balanced, yes, but truthful and newsworthy, no.
and collectively ... each network has its own agenda ... fox caters to the conservative, msnbc counters fox, and cnn wants the race to be tight so more people watch the news more often.
if this was a blow out as it should be ... i would have also stopped watching the news as often as i do. so i admit that cnn's ploy has suckered me into watching more also.
therefore, it comes down to money folks. money money money.”

“The reason the pundits get it so wrong, they cave in to opposition or the higher ups that feed them position they are suppose to debate. They have never reflected the true postions of the American people except for blue collar voters who allow themself to fit into these sterio types.
They are so rehearsed in their reporting, until you can correctly know what opinion they will render.
The Pundits do us a dis-service when they try to speak for us, when we are at total odds at what they are propigating as our true opinions.”

“as a obama supporter from the beginning of his campaign, i am very happy with where we are in this election and i support his choice for vp.
on the other hand, i am also a fan of the clintons. i think bill did an amazing job as president and i was honored and proud of him as a leader.
because of this amazing, unprecedented presidential race and the accomplishments of both clinton and obama, i have enjoyed the past 10 months.
i am not one of these obama supporters that bash hillary for playing tough politics. and i am disappointed at hillary supporters that threaten to vote for mccain.
nonetheless, i think i am in the camp that would like to see hillary rewarded for her campaign and her work and also i believe i am in the majority of folks that would like the clintons involved.
therefore, i propose obama announce hillary as part of his cabinet. hillary, alongside al gore, and others. never has this been done before, but it would unify the party and invigorate the campaign to really drive it home.
i'm interested to hear from the rest of you on huffpo. let me know your thoughts.
thanks for reading.”

“I can't imagine Hillary trading a senate seat for a cabinet post. Cabinet positions are usually quite transitory. I do think, however, that she would accept a seat on the Supreme Court and I think that she would make an excellent Supreme Court justice... perhaps even Chief Justice if that position opens up during Obama's presidency.”

“RickO,you're absolutely right...th e BIGGER problem is not that his campaign people are dum-dums , but that apparently either McCain CAN'T SEE what's going on around him-which would be troubling for a potential President-or that he ENDORSES this stuff, which gives us a window seat on the mentality of McCain.
I mean, come on Johnny! Your opponent is in Berlin - BER-LIN - addressing a quarter-million people...a nd you thought it was a good idea to stand in front of SCHMIDT'S FUDGE HAUS (with a gift shop! Don't forget the gift shop!) because it sounds German? Can't he see how pathetically that plays?

Not a Gaffe: A Fundamental Misunderstanding of Iraq

“poor mccain ... he's making alot of mistakes. it seems everyday there is a new mccain gaffe. has anyone kept a log of all the mistakes?? i really want to read all of them. i think he may just have memory issues just as anyone else his age. i'm not an ageist or anything like that ... but if he wins the presidency, and reelection, he would be president well into his 80's. its funny how most people laugh at anyone in power at that age. whether its fidel castro or mugabe. the world is much different now then when these 3 grew up.
america is different now. and we need a different kind of president.
the world has embraced obama in a way that no american president has been embraced since jfk.
just as john edwards made his concession speech about how he was going to step aside and let history take its course, mccain too will eventually need to step aside and let history take its course.”

“You are correct! However, why should McSame correct his gaffs? The only media that even points to any extent them out are Keith O and Dan Abrams. The mainstream media only join in the McBush parade. I cannot watch CNN any more! They are almost as bad as FOX anymore. Today they are caught with Sen Obama saying initially he would meet with 'enemies' without preconditions when asked. Since then, he has explained he would have made preparations and if it makes sense, YES, he will meet. They call it a 'shift'.
Someone please tell mainstrain media the two words have different meanings-
Precondition-a condition required beforehand if something else is to occur, be done...
Preparation-the act or process of preparing
the condition of being prepared; readiness
something done to prepare; preparatory measure
something prepared for a special purpose
When McBush used 'The Surge' instead of escalation of troops and 'Time Horizon' instead of Time Table, what did the media do-------go along and change their lingo!”

Jim Webb for Vice President: A Brilliant Idea?
Commented Jun 10, 2008 at 20:15:57 in Politics
“yeah i need to spend more time vetting webb's history. i really liked the guy ever since i saw his response to the state of the union. i think he would help obama bring in some republicans and this will help obama with regards to foreign policy. i don't think is antiquated ideas on women's role (if they have not evolved yet) will overcome Obama's more progressive beliefs. also, i can not knock a man's ideas on vietnam who fought so bravely. i somehow respect both his and senator kerry's stances on vietnam. also, i do support this articles suggestion that he will help obama with the poorer class. though, i think john edwards will play a major role in tackling this issue in america. but edwards can do that from a different post.
i believe obama will have to announce not just the vp, but several cabinet members.
obama - webb - edwards - gore - clinton
vs
mccain - jindal
i like the democrats chances here”

“this is a great article and a great idea ... i am all for it. the only people that want us in iraq are the war profiteers. which leads me to a thought i had last night. the war was not supposed to be a burden on americans. i support our troops and therefore want them home safe with their families, but if we are in iraq to keep the peace until the iraqi's can do it themselves, then the iraqis need to pay for our protection. its not like they don't have the money, i mean the oil, to pay for this. i mean, with the iraqi oil, we should be able to drive down gas prices and relieve the burden our taxpayers are paying for this unnecessary war.”

“What is the job of a VP candidate? Deliver one state that would otherwise be up for grabs. Given the closeness of the last two presidential elections, one state tips the balance of power. Joe Lieberman didn't deliver anything Al Gore wouldn't have won on his own. John Edwards couldn't even carry his home state.
Bring us one more state, VP. That's all that matters in picking the VP. And it's why Hillary makes no sense on the ticket.
Forget the symbolic VP candidate. Forget appeals to women or Hispanics in general. Select someone with the political machinery to deliver precious electoral votes that can put you over the top.
That points you in the direction of a Richardson (NM), Strickland (OH), Casey or Rendell (PA), Bayh (IN). Some were Clinton supporters. If it helps heal bridges, that's nice, but it's secondary. Show me your electoral votes!”
