“As is Citigroup, Bank of America, GM, and many other major companies who were once thought of as stable and blue chippers. If you haven't taken notice we are currently experiencing one of the greatest financial disasters in American history. You can't seriously compare what is happening to Citadel with what is happening to Sirius/XM. There are different factors contributing to their bankruptcy. Citadel isn't get bailed out by a large media firm (i.e., Liberty Media) as Sirius/XM did for a reason. Sirius/XM's problems are tied with the American car market, Citadels is based on content (rather terrible content I might add). Sirius/XM is considered a going concern, and is currently part of talks ongoing between Liberty and Worldspace which could create an international satellite radio provider.

“Goldman was never the issue - they never needed the TARP money and they paid it back as quickly as they were allowed to. Letting Lehman fail was a not for Goldman's benefit - it did nothing for them because as expected Barclays bought up their people and opened another investment bank on Wall Street days after they died - no net change in the competitive landscape. Problem with saving Lehman is he couldn't find a buyer (he wanted BofA to buy them but was happy they went for Merrill instead which would have been a much bigger collapse).

Why deal with them when you can haggle directly online through ebay? I know they are an oft maligned group but even they have to feed their kids too.”
