Begin your study into the origins of any and all religions and each one begins with good and well-meaning intentions but shortly they each all succomb to hate, intolerance of others and bigotry. None is without it's flaws. Believe me ... I have searched.

Today, I have seen enough hate, bloodshed and intolerance all in the name of religions to fill 3 lifetimes. (I am lucky to have traveled the world for my job several times) I am an atheist and never have I had a more full and well being to my spirit. Something beyond even my own understanding.

You will never understand the full meaning of my statements until you live for a while in any of the northern Scandinavian countries. According to some recent studies on "happiness" there is no region on earth where there is more love, tolerant and a happier people. And more than 90 to 95 percent of the population are atheist. I am not claiming that one has to be an atheist to be happy but it certainly opens the door to make one ponder.”

“I think he just said that because that is how they were able to admit women--by exempting them from combat units. However, women are permitted to be MPs (Military Police) and, often, it is the MPs who are doing the local law enforcement in combat zones. So not being in a combat unit has nothing to do with whether you will show up in a combat zone during your service. So why do they make the distinction to begin with? Its probably just a political distinction that facilitated women's entry into regular armed forces units. Now that women are serving and being killed in combat zones its time to remove that second-class distinction on women and don't even bother applying the same policy to LGBT soldiers, as its useless, offensive, and harmful.”
