Landrieu Now Facing Anger From The Right, But Predicts Re-Election
Commented Dec 23, 2009 at 07:49:12 in Politics
“landrieu looked every inch the "political prostitute" that one caller called her. done up in her flaming red dress, she looked like she thought she was bette davis in JEZEBEL wearing red to the olympus ball in New Orleans.
since landrieu and a handful of her colleagues blocked the full will of the democratic majority in the senate and played along with the repulicans to kill real healthcare reform, this flaming red "poltical prostitute" has been out front cheering herself on and shamelessly lying about the good effects of the bill she has forcced on the majority of the senate.
one example in her outrageous performance on cspan was to tell one caller that competion among insurance companies would be created by her bill, because they would now have to compete with other insurance comapnies in the way walmart competes with target and other stores to keep prices lower!
for all the world it seemed like the self-pleased, arrogant, deceitful landrieu had no idea that her efforts purposely left in tact the exemption from federal anti-trust laws, and that unlike walmart and other retailers, and almost all other kinds of businesses in the usa, insuracne companies are free to sit down with each other and legally collude to fix the price of what they sell.
and what they sell will continue to smell like the stench of the senator from new orleans.”

one hopes that one day disney will be singled out for being one arm of a media empire that while playing nice to children with cartoon characters and amusement parks, also includes hate radio shows that bring in the bucks!
isn't it time that this media conglamorate was made to answer for its use of our public airwaves to makes millions off of right wing hate?
the right will tell you its a free speech issue, but free speech includes the right to reject what you don't like and speak out against it, and a corporate use of free speech on the public airwaves to preach hate is a proper target for pulbic outrage and protest.
in case you didn't already know it, your mickey mouse is an aging right winger who pays out hundreds of millions to rush limbaugh and in return makes more millions off of his hate radio broadcast!”

but if not, then why does an unknown person's crime start with lead headlines beginning with her name as if we were reading that madonna, bette davis, joan crawford, queen elizabeth ll, elizabeth taylor, or any other person geneally knon to the publilc was the subject of this story!
is the need for celeb headlines so strained by the escalating media outlets, that we need to treat crime stories by unkowns with headlines as though they too were celebs.
and all this aside, anyone who mistreats an animal, should do serious prison time, and if i believed in the death penalty, which i don't--i would support it for torturing or murdering animals!
and, why it is legal for pet owners to have vets kill their pet if it is not working out, pisses in the wrong place, barks too much, scratches too much, etc.
shouldn't all the pet owners who do this, or abandon or dump pets when they have decided they don;t want them any longer, also be criminallized. and shouldn;t it be against the law for vets, to have to kill healthy animals.”

“i find seeing the united states secretary of state dressed up for a halloween as a praciticing muslim, a disturbing and unsatisfactory image and one that fails to mirror the constitution of our own united states which separates religion and state.
while it can be argued that such attire, is intended to signal respect for islamic culure, it makes our secretary of state gender identified, in a country that is sexist to the core, as defined by relgious and civil law--often 1 and the same---and fails to uphold ouir own hard won evolving culture, that women should have gender equality in all aspects of public and private life.
to see mrs, clinton defined first as a woman, and only secondly as the secretary of state of the united states, by her submission to islamic dress codes for women, is to suggest that she will not be dealt with, and this country will not be represented as well as by male secretary of state in its deallings with islamic nations.
had secretary of state clinton met with islamic clerics in pakistan, and donned a veil, as she might have to meet the pope, that would signal only a proper respect for the religious figures
to address students publicly and need to adopt attire not in keeping with the normal attire of her high office, makes our own cutlural values look varaiable and ms. clinton look as though she dressed up for a halloween party!”

until a trial is conducted under usa law and a defendent has been convicted of the crimem he is innocment, until proven guilty!
and if a defendent agrees to plea bargaining and admit guilt , he has not been found guilty by a jury of his peers .in the polanski case, as documented, the district attorny warned polanksi's lawyer they the judge was going to sentence him ot prsion time, despite the plea bargain deal.
that doublecross has left a detrimental guilty plea from polanksi, the harm of which is demonstrated by your pre-conceived notions of his guilt,
whenever i hear from moralists about how a crime is so hideious as to override the consideration of law, i am reminded that moralists are but one step from the mob, and the mob is always but one step away from all our fates,o
only, under the equal and due process application of law---even and especially when dealing with defendents rights and the moralissts who would pre-judge them is each of our rights protected, , witout regard to the outcome of a speficif defendents fate!”

“He waived his right to a trial when he pleaded guilty. He didn't need to be found guilty by a jury of his peers. He went ahead and admitted his guilt.
Here is what the judge said, ""Inasmuch as the defendant has been CONVICTED of a felony sex offense involving a child under the age of 14 years..." You would think that if he hadn't actually been convicted, his lawyer - who was present - would have said as much.
And whatever the judge may have said, it wasn't a doublecross. A judge IS NOT BOUND by the agreed terms of a plea bargain. During the plea hearing Mr. Polanski was told as much and agreed to those terms.”

“You are off in so many ways:
a) he pled down escaping the most serious charges
b) he pled guilty and negotiated a non-binding plea deal
c) the judge, who is allowed to throw out the deal, threw it out
d) Polanski could have re-opened the trial process, but he chose to skip the country before sentencing
He is a felon and an admitted child rap.ist.”

My first reaction to seeing the headline was omg, somone from the msm actually called out SH on his made up controversies & then I watched most of the video & thought George came across too weak in getting his point across. SH sounds like he won't back down on anything - Obama could say the sun will rise at a certain time & SH will call him in league with the devil & even if it does rise at that time, SH will never give in to the facts. Maybe it would be nice if there was a newspaper article or evening news segment on SH & his fantasy land in regard to any one issue & not leave it to the daily show all the time.”

3. we won't vote for you again unless you end don't ask, don't tell put the full muscle of the presidency to end DOMA--the nuremberg nazi styled ban on gay and lesbian citizens from marrying.
3, we want more than platitudes in your speeh this weekend, or you should expect to be booed.
4. those in your audience with conscience and enough self-repsect should walk out on your speech if you to pander to us again.
5. you have said, your run for the presidency was a martin luther king like visioion of seizing the historical moment, we say to you , it is our moment, iin the new 21st century, in solidarity with our liberated and fully legalized brothers and sisters in the uk, spain, denmark, germany, sweeden, canada, south africa, et al, to say no more nuremberg laws for us in the usa and no more support for you or the the democratic party if you don't deliver our full equality under the law.

“And my response. Good luck. That is perhaps the single worst political strategy.. . see, we're talking politics here not civil rights. Once everyone in the room agrees that LGBT should have civil rights then what? The next conversation, the conversation we're having now, or one side is having while the other side gets angry, is how do we get them, the civil rights we all agree should exist. The LGBT community over the last year has shown no political skill. I speak as a friend to the movement and I say to you, hire some professional pols, some people who work in the industry and for the love of mike get a political clue. Anyone who saw the collapse of the financial system of the entire western world last september and thought that the social and political agenda of the President wasn't going to be radically changed, simply doesn't understand politics.”
