Just in Case George Zimmerman Walks Free...

Commented Jul 11, 2013 at 16:40:40 in Politics

“Simmon's comments are really illogical. If there is one thing that is clear -- no matter whether you think Zimmerman should hang or go free -- it's that there is nothing in the Zimmerman case having to do with Stand Your Ground. The defense claim of self-defense is based on a scenario where Zimmerman does not have any opportunity to retreat, so the defense is not based on Stand Your Ground, but rather on the long-standing principle of just being able to defend yourself from bodily harm. Even if you do not believe the defense, it is still true that the defense is not relying on Stand Your Ground.”

“Great point. I guess Mr. Simmons hasn't been paying as much attention to the case as he claims.”

That's the equivalent of a blind taste test. If you can't tell the difference, perhaps the difference is negligible-to-none.”

“"Profit has no place in health care."

So doctors and nurses will be working for free, too, I assume? That would certainly be cheaper, although I suspect the quality of care may go downhill.”
