“This sweet little baby must have thought that his mom was crying. He was confused by that plaintive, wailing sound coming from his mother. She should stop torturing her baby. She should start singing something upbeat and silly, with lots of smiles and laughter. IJS”
“Is there a legitimate way for the public to petition that pay is suspended for all senators, congressmen and yes, even the president until this matter is resolved? I think all voters, no matter what party, would sign it immediately.”

“Why the assumption that Trayvon Martin was angry? Perhaps he was afraid. Who would not be afraid of a stranger following them, first in a vehicle and then on foot? Trayvon Martin was standing his ground. I tell my kids to fight, kick, scream and do what ever it takes to get away from a stranger. Trayvon is the victim. That seems to be lost on a majority of people. The system failed Trayvon and his family. It is a sad day in our country.”

“The assumption is what helps so many justify a cruel, cold and calculated murder done in the nation's face. Followed by a satisfied smirk in the camera. Mark O'Mara is just as slick and mouthy. They ruled. And they are all shaking hands and drinking champagne and patting each other on the back, right this very moment. And collectors are already lining up for that gun. It will make the Zimmermans richer by far with the donations. And while he couldn't shoot the glasses off an old host, Cheney (Dick) might be interested.”
“You say - "Their deception has raised the ante....they could have simply been honest with us."
Honest about what? Labeling the massacre of Americans a "terrorist activity?" We can call it whatever anybody wants and on whatever day they want to do it. It does not change a thing. Four innocent people were brutally murdered. The "name" of the act is only important to those that wish to politicize the matter. I am sure that many others like myself are tired of the whole "When did President Obama say terrorist" nonsense. Anytime anyone is murdered it is TERROR. Get over the petty bull crap. I also believe there is more to that attack than we will ever know. Politics is a dirty business these days.”
“I purposely avoid clicking on any Kardashian "anything" but would did so this time to pose the following question to HP. HP followers deserve full disclosure. Does this family pay to have their news and pictures splattered all over websites? Sorry KK and family, your halloween costume is not news. Aren't there plenty of other "real" celebrity costumes that could be displayed? We don't see those so I doubt that HP is merely interested in costume display.
Our obsession with the mundane has to end. There is definitely more important news in the world.
This is my last click for a Kardashian. One down, millions to go.”
“" Fisher attended Louisiana State University and graduated a few months ago. Let’s hope that, in college, she took a math course. Because then she might finally be able to understand what happened to her.
Even if UT Austin scrapped its diversity program tomorrow, and filled the whole entering class with students drawn from the top 10 percent of their high schools, she still would not have been admitted. She graduated in the top 12 percent. So she missed the numerical cutoff.
Sure, that’s disappointing. But it’s not discrimination."
“Frankly, I resent Mitt brining God into politics. I don't believe he is willing to discuss Mormonism and how their views about God and Jesus, in particular, are quite different from the standard Christian belief of the holy trinity. I for one am curious about how his religion will come into play should he be elected. I think he is a good man, but Mormons are not Christian. When he invokes God's name, it comes with a whole different meaning. As a Christian, I am kinda insulted by it.”

“Us Christians are really good at feeling insulted by stuff, aren't we.”

“I resent ANY polititian even hinting at religion. If you invoke religion, you might as well stop calling us a republic and begin to refer to us as a theocracy.”
“I know many Conservatives that are thoughtful, complex thinkers. I don't think you can categorize intelligence. To believe so sets us back many, many years. There was a time when race and even gender "supposedly" determined intelligence. Think about it!”

“Yes. Enough feeding the "us versus them" profit machines we call today's news.”
“FACT: "Approximately 90 percent of known serial killers are Caucasian males between the ages of 25 to 35." Should I fear all white males between the ages of 25 and 35?
If a black person attacks a white, blue, green or purple person while uttering racial slurs, it is a hate crime. Get the point? It does not matter what race Zimmerman is, IT IS STILL A HATE CRIME!
FACT: Trayvon had Iced Tea and Skittles. At 17, he is still a child, whether he's 6'2" or whatever. He is not being "portrayed" as an innocent, doe eyed child. He IS an innocent child.”
batulia73 on Apr 3, 2012 at 03:32:09
“Excellent point about serial killers! I wish I had thought of that. When a white guy is walking down the street should I start thinking "Jeffrey Dahmer"?
Also a good point about Zimmerman's race. Anyone can be racist; white, black, asian, hispanic, arab, native american, whatever.
“In his speech, he recognized heroes by NAME. Shame on him for not memorizing the name, rank and serial number of every person affected by the storm. He referenced the text, he did not read from it. I appreciated his thoroughness.”
“She has a right to be disappointed, just as anyone would be if they had been asked before. I do not see how her comments make her LIVID. Unless she actually said she was shocked and livid, I don't see how disappointed translates. Angry black female, anyone? I don't think so.”
Alpha Nerd on Aug 18, 2012 at 23:54:59
“It's because she's black and a woman. So any comment made in disagreement makes her angry and livid.”
“Me: An intelligent, college educated female married to a college educated male.
Choice: Have my baby in a medically advanced, American hospital or a small, rural hospital in a third world country or worse yet, by a midwife from the local village in said third world country where options are limited should there be an emergency.
Come on people. Why are we still entertaining these dimwits?”

“Pregnant women's travel was severely restricted in those days, to boot.”
“I have to dismiss this study or any other study that lumps a large group of people into categories of intelligence. That does not make sense. All liberals are not smart, all conservatives are not dumb, just as all asians are not smart and all blacks are not dumb. This type of categorization by reputable institutions is highly irresponsible.”

“The issue is not that all of everything is everything. He is basically drawing trends, that in under educated and lower intelligence folk that there is a "tendency" to be racists and conservative of mind and politics. That is all. Seems to be true in my visitation to 38 of our states.”
starkmaddness on Feb 3, 2012 at 17:29:10
“I don't think the study lumps the groups together so much as show trends. I do believe that less intelligent people are drawn to conservative ideals as well as religion. That doesn't mean that you can't have highly intelligent devout conservatives, just that they have a larger share of less intelligent people. As far as liberals, I believe that people that blindly follow liberal ideals are also not usually too bright, as opposed to the people that come those conclusions based on considering all evidence.
That said, there are idiots on all sides, considering that the average IQ of 100 is not all that bright to begin with.”

“I think you're misunderstanding the study. It is not saying "All liberals are not smart, all conservatives are not dumb". For example, the article above contains the following: "Nosek said less intelligent types might be attracted to liberal "simplifying ideologies" as well as conservative ones." It's just saying that people who are less intelligent are more likely to hold views considered "conservative." Are there liberals with below average intelligence? Of course there are.”
“Abortion has been legal since Roe vs Wade was passed in 1973. Why hasn’t a Republican President, Congress or "Court" overturned the decision over these many years? With the firestorm that has erupted against President Obama over abortion, one would think that he is personally responsible for the court decision and every single abortion that has occurred since. Let’s be honest, this tirade is not really about abortion. It’s a tool being used by a group of people that do not want Barack Obama to be President. We will not see progress in our political or race relations until we honestly address what is really going on here. If you are against abortion, don’t have one. If you do have one, it will be safe and medically supervised. At the end of the day, that’s what Roe vs Wade gave us.”
