“HEALTH CARE COULD BE VERY EASY
The health insurance companies have been pimping off of health care professionals long enough. They need to be nationalized and their corporate mission changed to one of providing funds for health care instead of NOT providing health care. The CEOs and top management can keep their ill-gotten gains. They can even keep their jobs but their mission would no longer be to generate obscene profits for themselves at the expense of the patients. They should not be entitled to continue to exploit health care for their own greedy benefit. That is one entitlement that we can do without.”””””””

“Mr. Photopharm. I would suggest that you imform yourself regarding the courses in any Economics PhD program and compare that to MBA or doctoral programs in business administration. Courses in production and operations management and marketing are conspicuous by their absence in the subject matter adressed in studies on the way to a PhD in economics. I REPEAT. What we need are jobs that produce and market goods and services that Americans and others will plunk down money for, so that their employers can pay salaries so that their employees can buy goods and services that other entrepreneurs have produced and so on. I think that the finance function has leveraged itself into a situation where it is the tail wagging the dog in business enterprise.”

“WRONG, not sure where in the world you got your information but it certainly is right. Economists try to predict a lot of things, but people that are free often make choices and decisions that are complex. They won't change driving habits at $3 a gal gas, but will at $3.50 a gal gas. But, if they perceive things are going to get worse economically for them, they may change there mind and start changing driving habits at $2.75 a gallon for gas.
The real problem is the Federal Government trying to push economy to spend money quicker by encouraging loans etc expanding credit, till people get over leveraged and things collapse around them.”

“What VA hospital have you been to? I have experience at them and they are miserable places. Dirty, unorganized, and the people that work there are the lowest performers and least hospitable (no pun intended) possible. Everytime I visit I get to wait and wait and wait for some doctor who finished last in his class to see me. And while waiting I get to hear the nurses and staff talk about their weekend activities in ebonics. Oh, yeah VA care is a real prize.”

“The great majority of the compensation that you quote is in "theoretical" gains associated with stock option grants. These grants only pay off if the stock performs according to the rules of the grant. In some cases, stock values would have to double in order for a payoff to occur.
To simply state the numbers as the amount they are "paid yearly" is not accurate.
Having said that, I do think executive compensation should be reigned in. Stock holders should start voting down these huge stock grants and bonuses. Stock holders should take a more active role in this.”
