“There is a beautiful documentary about Edie and Thea. Thea was ill for very many years and Edie took care of her. Truly a love story. What's happening is an injustice. They were together a lifetime. I'm hoping for a fair outcome.”
“Picking up dog poop is much easier. It's outside. I use a little bag. Cat poop, ick, gotta strain the kitty litter again and again to find the poo. I watch my neighbor's cats when she goes on vacation. As soon as I walk into the house, you know there are cats. I apologize to all the cat lovers, but i prefer dogs. And yeah dogs can smell, but I accept that cause she is one smart dog.”
“Don't most of us think it's disgusting that a mega wealthy man like Romney can hide money in the Cayman Islands and pay only 13% in taxes? Get rid of these loopholes. He will still have plenty of his $250 million to give to his children and church.”
“So heaven and hell are part of Kentucky's school curriculum. How about the tooth fairy and unicorns? I imagine the teacher also insists the earth is 6000 years old. And she was only reprimanded. This is imposing religious views in a supposedly secular institution. I won't even address the ridiculous political aspect of her comment. I'm glad my kids are grown.”

“Agree totally, faye, outrageous...but consider the [pathetic] environment: Kentuky is one of the poorest, most illiterate, backward, retroactive states in the country, massively supported by 'equalisation' funds redistributed through darkest DC, (they seem to have zero problem with that sort of 'socialism'), overhwelmingly funded by richer, higher tax blue states (Texas being a notable exception). This is also the state where locals enthusiastically flock to their Creationist Museum, (our tax dollars at work) which has humans happily cavorting with dinosaurs on a planet earth circa - you said it ! - six thousand years old. Obviously this 'teacher' is totally on board with this idiocy, to the detriment of an already woefully ill-educated populace.
What superlative preparation for Kentucky's schoolkids to survive (must less thrive) in today's ruthlessly competitive, info technology-centered, globalised world !
“My husband votes one way, I vote the other way. We now watch CNN.”

“My husband and I are in the EXACT same boat. We voted polar opposites on the last election, and we've decided to (mostly) watch CNN... but we still switch around to see if everyone is airing the same thing... even my husband (the Republican voter ;) ) admits that you can't get the whole story from Fox.”
“Anti-semitism and ignorance are alive and well in the good old USA. How many Israelis have boarded a bus or gone into a cafe wearing a suicide vest? Exactly none. Listen to the words from the leaders of Iran and Iraq. They are committed to the elimination of Israel. Why would any intelligent person align themselves with the likes of Ahmadinejad, Morsi and all those who pray for the destruction of the Jews?”

“Israeli independence from the British mandate was achieved through TERRORISM!!! So how can they deride anybody else who uses it politically?
balamo on Nov 16, 2012 at 08:38:25
“no, they do their bombing from the air, for the most part...except when it is shelling a city like beirut for 60 days nonstop - irregardless of where the bombs fall...
why would any intelligent jew align themselves with a neo-theocracy like israel?”

“While your post rings true, you must understand that rhetoric from Arab nations is no reason for pre-emptive strikes. Syria is embroiled in it's own uprising this Israeli attack had nothing to do with Gaza. It's all about an opportunity to expand borders.”

“Not evryone loves the Jews, objection to bad behaviour aka bullying anti semitism, Palestinians are also semites and probably more pure semites.”

“Most of the response to the behavior of Israel has nothing to do with antisemitism. It has to do with the way the Palestinian people have been treated.
You are muddying the waters.”

“Here in the USA tall, skinny white boys from the suburbs go into movie theaters and kill indiscriminately.
Should we declare war on the suburbs?”

“I am not taking sides in this war but your argument doesn't hold water. Israelis do a lot of damage to the Palestinians on a daily basis surpassing the suicide attacks by far.
They are both committed to exterminate the other.”

“I see a future for Mitt as an ex-pat. I'm sure Switzerland or Pago Pago or France is lovely in any season. I imagine the monocle wearing, champagne drinking, escargots eating elite will welcome him and regale him with talk of the dirty "gimme" underclass. What a clueless out of touch dolt.”
“We know women are the devil's spawn because as this old man says "She was throwing herself at him." Is this guy for real? Geez, Broadwell wasn't a Korean spy. Let's leave this to the families to figure out. Boy - would I be pissed if the FBI started reading my emails and texts. Maybe the FBI sees terrorism in sexy bon mots. Never know.”
“I live in a retirement community although my husband still works. I am so tired of listening to those seniors who are collecting Medicare and pensions say "who cares about the uninsured, let them rot". They are totally anti-union now that they have their pensions. I know a couple who have total govt coverage for their disabled son and they voted for Romney. (This does not compute.) We must care. Everyone should have healthcare. And I say this because my moral compass tells me this is civilized.”
