“Ok. Go back and learn to read. I never said they were. You are the deluded creature. The let them expire because they didn't work.
You can not go in and by one anywhere you deluded creature. Lanza tried. when he found out he needed to go through a background check He stole them from his mother.. You know the one that kept him from getting the guns he got.
You do not know facts. Background checks would not have stopped any of the mass murders so far. It didn't stop Adam. He would have gotten the guns he just didn't want to wait. So he stole them. No check. OOOPS.
You need to try to read.
The NRA proposed have scanners. That's already being done and tried in Chicago. OBAMA doesnt want that. Oh but it works. OOOOPPSS.....”
“Where did I say there was a bill? I know what you want in the bill. You need to read and find out why it's not that easy. It's easy to say what you want. I am giving you facts as to why what you want can't be done and will waste years getting kids killed.
You want to try the million monkey rule. Just try stuff and waste 20 years letting kids be killed. Trying what can't work and we know wont work.
Why not try what already works and save them.
Oh thats right ITS the NRA. DIG in and resist. I just hope it isnt your child..........”
“Same question. Had your pills today?? I think not.
I'm trying to prevent kids from getting killed. You are adding nonsense.... Try coming up with something useful. Like the NRA plan. Not that other nonsense like bans that don't work. Background checks that failed. much of the NRA plan has been tried and worked.. Dont you approve of what worked?????”
“Because i hate trying stupid nonsense that has already failed. I would rather try something that I KNOW would work. Why do you insist on trying things that failed. And yes it was banned years ago. People still got shot by them. She was not stupid. She was not law abiding. She knew her son was not to be trusted with a gun but he got hers. Thats my problem you want to stop Mrs Lanza. Not Adam. You want to hamper everyone but the shooter. A gun ban wont work. They are already out there. Nobody is going to turn them in and you cant confiscate them legally or easily.
Why do you want to try stuff that has already failed and wont and can't work. I don't want to waste time letting kids get shot like you are. I want to stop it. I would also ask why you are worried about 20 when 200 kids got shot with guns that were not banned. What about them?? Have you know compassion about them??
Why not try things that are already working. That's what I and the NRA are asking......no i'm not a member.......”
“but you have to do it legally. Just saying someone has bipolar isn't good enough. You must prove they are criminally insane and would use the gun violently. How do you prove that unless the person actually uses it or shows some other violent criminal intent??? Like bashing someones skull in with a bat. The mental disorder testing is for is too subjective. You can have 10 doctors give 10 different tests and come up with 10 different answers.
Now you sound like Sen Pelosi. Lets pass it and see what it does. What if it causes far more problems then it helps. Then you are part of the problem not the solution. The million monkeys rule doesnt apply here. You waste too much money and time on nonsense then effective resolution.”
“It will also take a lot of changes to many laws. Again The owner had a background check. No mental illness. The shooter is not required to answer the question. It's violates his medical confidentiality. He doesn't have to answer. He was not under treatment. He has nothing to report. You can't commit because Mental illness is too easy to claim. Most of them are done by subjective questions and subjective answers and subjective evaluation. Not by true science. Even if he is. he doesn't have to say anything to anyone. The only way you can ban him is if he voluntarily claims he is incapable or he commits the crime(s). After the fact........”

“THERE IS NO BILL concerning mental health yet - I am simply saying what I feel should be in the bill. How can you not know that there isn't a bill yet?”
prudencehall on Apr 2, 2013 at 13:10:04
“Yes, I agree - we must have a way to screen out mentally ill people in background checks and it must be federal and funded. It does not violate someone's constitutionality when an MD says they are no longer able to drive or have epilepsy and are barred from getting a license in the first place -- I do not see why it wouldn't be the same with background checks.
And Chicago is a perfect example of why we need NATIONAL LAWS. What's the point of banning a weapon when it can be legally purchased two El (subway) stops in a neighboring suburb?! The new federal anti-gun trafficking legislation has stunningly strict penalties for bringing a firearm into a "restricted" city or state.
TRY EVERYTHING - we have nothing to lose by trying and everything to lose if we don't!”
“Except as the plan states You are supposed to screen people for guns as they do in Chicago. Chicago is using some of the plans stated in the NRA plan. IT's working.
You don't like the working Plan. again The definition of insanity is doing the same things that dont work again and again and expecting different results. I also add it's rejecting those that already work.”
“THE STATE DID. They will not work and would not work.
The gun ban would not have worked in Sandy Hook either. actually we have had the same number of deaths per year since the last Gun ban. You are worried about 20 deaths but not the death of almost 200. amazing.
You should try to be part of the solution instead of keep trying things that dont work and wont work. Try things that do. Many parts of the NRA plan are working already like in CHICAGO. Funny Chicago the presidents home city is doing things HE wont try.. THAT WORK..... Why?????/”

“1) We have NEVER had Universal Background checks on all firearm purchases and transfers.
2) We have NEVER had a federal anti-gun trafficking law.
So you agree with both of those since they have never been tried.
3) The extended magazine ban was successful from every reputable study. So we should try that again.
4) The verdict is still out on the assault weapons ban - I have read studies that state it was effective and others that say it wasn't.”

“No. The Bushmaster .223 with a thirty round magazine was NOT banned in Connecticut. Mrs. Lanza was a stupid but law abiding gun owner.
“Try reading the plan next time.
You are like the president. Lets keep trying failed ideas. Gun Ban failed already. Lets try again. Sandy Hook owner passed a background check and the shooter would have passed. Good lets do that again.
To paraphrase a famous scientist. Keep trying the same failed ideas and expecting different results is the definition of insanity”
“It is you that needs a mental health check. The NRA proposal is the only thing that would work.
You are like the president. Keep trying things that haven't worked and things that won't and can't work.
Gun Bans failed for 10 years. Sorry. The gun owner of Sandy Hook passed a background check and the shooter would have passed. All Failures
To paraphrase a famous scientist. The definition of insanity is trying the same failed things over and over and expecting different results.”

“Nuts......poor deluded creature....gun bans are not in effect, hence being able to walk in and buy one anywhere, hence the murderous rampages, hence dead 6 year olds.....I know facts and reality are probably to much for you, but try it....”
“Can't be done under current laws. You can't get that information because it's confidential unless the mentally unstable person offers it himself or he does something like the shooter at Sandy Hook. The gun owner had already passed a background check. The shooter would have passed a background check.”
“And that's exactly what is being said. Why not? It's already being done VERY successfully.
Apparently you are like the president. More laws that didn't work in the past. Others that can't work because of present laws. Instead of coming up with solutions that work. Lets keep trying those that haven't worked.
Some famous scientist called that the definition of insanity. Keep trying things that don't work and expecting different results.”
“The ones that don't and won't and can't work?? That's the problem. You reject his courage by rejecting his suggestion on ideas that are already working for those the haven't and don't work.
Banning didn't work for 10 years. So why keep trying?? It wouldn't have worked in Sandy Hook. Backgruond checks?? The owner had been checked and passed. Because of current laws they can't do much about mental health questions. Unless the buyer gives that info of his own accord it can't be gotten. How do you propose to get the information otherwise?? Only if he commits a crime. Then it is too late.
I guess that works for you.”

“We have NEVER had universal background checks. Never. The reviews of the ten years of the prior ban are debatable - I have read some studies that say they weren't effective and other studies that say they were effective. What we do know is that the previous ban had too many loopholes - and even with the loopholes, we never had eleven mass shootings in two years.
The mental health questions are stunningly complex - not just the needed funding for the treatment and facilities but also the need to change some of our laws regarding commitment.
People are trying to come up with solutions - try to be a part of the solution, too.”

“And having armed guards at columbine didn't work either. So, why are we doing this again?”
“It is not illegal. It may be immoral to some especially Satanic Christians. While I do not support it. IT's their lives. Why does it bother you. You are not the judge. But this is America. You are allows your opinion no matter how bigoted it might be.”
“Were did you get that idea?? This is not a post run by the GVT. It's run by Huff & Puff. Since it belongs to them they can screen all they want. It is not a violation of your 1st Amendment rights. You can say all you want on Facebook or take an ad in the paper.”
“agreed And it happens many more times then people get shot stupidly.
so what to do. Ban all guns? Background checks. The NEWTOWN gun owner had a background check but progressives wont let them be denied or even asked about Mental problems. They ask but you can't check because of privacy laws. They are not obligated to report them unless a previous crime was committed.
A lot of people fail to handle all kinds of things responsibly. Cars. how many get behind the wheel drunk sleepy/sleeping calling. I watch several times as someone talking on the phone slammed into the rear end of another car. So do you deny them cars or phones? They are trying to say you cant drink and drive or phone. But until you slam into someone its practically unenforceable. You can ban them but you wont get too many turning them in. The proverbial genie is out of the bottle already. The police can't just come and take them w/o due process and cause. Is that what you want a police state wher the Gvt gets to decide what you can have or do and just take you to jail no questions asked.
Gun bans didn't work. Guards and scanners due to protect schools. Chicago did it quite effectively. so why do they hate that.....”
“Your facts are in error. More people are saved by guns in the home than shot. You only hear about the ones that tug heartstrings. you don't hear about the 83 year old lady who shot an possible rapist. Or the Mother who saved her 2 children and herself by emptying a gun into an intruder breaking down her door.”
icanhazemail on Mar 27, 2013 at 00:54:30
“I heard about the old lady, and a woman who locked herself, her baby and her dog in the bedroom when two intruders tried to break into her trailer. They got through the front door, and she was already on the line with 911. Then they started breaking through her bedroom door, and she shot one of them, making the other one run away.
I was very glad she protected herself.
I don't think anyone would say otherwise.
That doesn't change the fact that a whole lot of people fail to handle their guns responsibly.”
