“And you know that if one has to be subsidized for the bronze plan which only covers 60% that they will surely not be able to cover the remaining 40%, which I doubt they really looked all that hard at in the first place...but they will really be screaming when their bill comes. We'll see who's correct next year.”
“Wait until next year when your employer kicks you off as it will be cheaper to pay the fine then pay for insurance or if they do decide to keep it you WILL be paying more...the only people who are really happy about all this is the people who get subsidized, but hey...we were already subsidizing these peole so we should just be happy to do more.”

“And just what prevented an employer from deciding to no longer offer insurance prior to Obamacare? Actually, subsidizing people to buy private insurance, is cheaper than paying their entire medical bill, which is how we have been doing it for decades. ”
MikeNice on Nov 21, 2013 at 16:37:45
“That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. Why would they kick me off because it's cheaper to pay the fine? Why not kick me off last year, or the year before when there was no fine?”

“Since you're so good at reading the future on things you have absolutely zero knowledge about would you mind telling me the exact price Google's stock will be on this day in 2014?”
“Obama is such a smart politition...he constantly put his foot in his mouth, "you can keep your insurance if you like it", even when just about everyone else was saying that's impossible. And now the smart guy is going to push things out another year to try and pull his foot out until when...right before the elections for 2014. If I was a Democrat I would be raising all kinds of he!! about that decision. Oh well, that's what happens when people just vote "yes" without even knowing what's inside, right Nancy?”
“Come on, you guys have to basically commit a crime to get fired, and that's still no quarantee that it will happen. Everyone knows that those that can't do either teach or work for the government. If one truely has talent they would never work for the government...”
GLTB on Nov 12, 2013 at 18:56:45
“Stupid thinking! "Everyone knows".Where's your evidence? Did you ever work for the government? Do you even know the variety of government jobs that exist? How many degrees do you have? I worked with all sorts of people with more education then you obviously have as the standards are quite high.”
Lesley Anne on Nov 12, 2013 at 17:52:01
“This is a really dumb post. Are you knocking our veterans, because they are working for the government?”
“Just because they're open does not mean you have to go. If you do not want to shop then stay at home. If enough people do stay at home then they'll stay closed on those days...but you will not stay at home, will you? They're forcing you to shop, no?”
I had a job in high school and it was not a living wage. We really need to debate what wages should be as not ALL jobs should pay a living wage. Who's to say what a living wage is as in Texas it might be X, but in New York it will be X plus a considerable amount to survive. Whos' to say what one needs to live. Does one have to have cable/phone/electricity/gas/shelter/car/fuel/maintenance/some amount of partying on the side?
No, I think one should learn how to budget their money and learn something so one can move up in life...”

“Who are you quoting? You sound like Herbert Hoover.”
“I feel for you not being able to become top dog straight out of college. Nobody in their 20's ever thinks what they're doing is what they should be doing as their ideas are out of touch with reality. They move out of their parents house, start a family and then realise that they should have paid attention while growing up.
At the end it's called a job for a reason, if it was fun it would be called play.”
“Please...both sides are chock full of crooks and sociopaths. The only reason that they're all there is that americans love THIER crook, they just dislike the other guys crook. So none ever get voted out.”
“We are purchasing our house and have been in it for 7 1/2 years now. We will have the 30 yr mortgage paid off in 15 (another 7 1/2 yrs). Sounds great, however, once one factors in interest on the loan any equity one thinks thay have is gone, even in as little as 15 years. No, a home is not what I would consider an investment unless one pays cash for it which few do. The real "win" is that as long as you pay you don't have to worry about getting thrown out at the end of a lease and when it's paid off all one has to worry about is maintenance and taxes, so costs are cut at that time. But as an investment...it's a pretty crappy one IMO.”
“Until there's a balanced budget amendment...never. I just want to know when we're going to stop being the worlds policeman? When we're going to put our own in front of other countries that would rather see us off this planet?
As the person on the plane says about when it goes down..."put the mask on yourself first because if you can't breath, you can't help anyone else"...”
“If we had a controlled enviroment as opposed to the black market where quality was more consistant then that issue could be reduced. I've been to the Netherlands where the quality is more consistant and different strains offer different effects. A good sativa has more of an "up" high that makes one want to do things and are not so "drugged out" feeling. An indica has more of a "down" high and really can put one to sleep. Hybrid strains take both and can be combined into more specific "highs" that suite symptoms that one might have...”

“no one cares about your illegal drugs... do something with your life or jump off a bridge.”
“No one is advocating legalizing without some form of regulation similar to alcohol and tobbacco. People have actually died from alcohol and tobbacco in the long haul and both have overdose rates that are easily reached if done too much. There is absolutly no case of anyone dying from smoking too much weed.”
“My dad has lung cancer and is currently going through chemo. Has no appetite/nausia/can't sleep...I know a bag of weed would help him out with those symptoms and even work as a mild pain reliefe as well. I would "hustle" him up a bag in a heartbeat, but he would not even try it because it's not legal...but if it was he would be on it with a quickness.
Big Pharma/tobbacco/alcohol lobbyers do not want this as competiton as their markets would dramatically dwindle and are fighting it "tooth and nail" the whole way.”

“Formontoya...show this to your father...i'm sorry to hear of his news !!!!!
“I had lung cancer and started taking hemp oil. Legal and not expensive. I went the surgery route 6 weeks later because I had no proof hemp oil would work. After my surgery the surgeon came into my room and said "I don't know what you were doing before surgery but keep doing it because your tumor had noticeably shrunk." As far as his side effects from chemo you might try sneaking it to him in food. It is foolish to suffer rather than break a "law".”
Jacques De Molay on Oct 8, 2013 at 16:30:53
“We did that for an old lady dying of cancer... She didn't like it because it made her goofy and she wanted to enjoy the rest of the time she had in life without having her mind numbed up.”
“God man...I'm sorry. My ex mother-in-law was a hippy back in the day so she used to smoke all the time. She got breast cancer twice and both times she smoked through the chemo. It was the only way she could hold down food. So sad that it is given such a bad name.
On a side note, ladies, should that time of the month roll around and you feel like you are gonna die from the cramps...smoke a bowl and it goes away and you start giggling. :)”

“They don't care about your father...there's no money in it for them. Sorry about your Dad. Slip some cannabis in some brownies one day and give him a little snack before bedtime...he'll be sleeping like a baby and maybe wake up with the munchies. :-)”

“Yep. You nailed it.
Money is all that matters to those folks. Relieving suffering people...meh, who cares about them?
