“ahh, i see what ur referring to now. perhaps its has to do with the violation of the establishment clause in the first amendment about the government remaining separate from and non preferential to religion and/or the practice of it. basically an argument over where the money comes from that is spent on the memorial. i dont know the details on the whole situation but for me it just seems disrespectful to all the people who died that day and still suffer today who werent and arent christians; almost like christians dont care about anybody but those of their own religion. perhaps it would be less controversial in a private religious setting.”
“Great idea, fmo ! I'll split the profits with you !
Oops ! My dog just ate it; never mind.
Seriously, that face was obviously painted or otherwise applied by the artist.
The torn and twisted form of the metal is very expressive and appropriate to the tragic theme, and doesn't need that extra "shtick".”
“no such word?! thats funny, everyone else seems to either know it or be able to look it up just fine. how about apophenia? do u know that word? if youre struggling with a google search then i think theres bigger problems at hand.”

“I think your freeked out, there's no such word.. It's a message from the heavens such as the Watsonville, Ca., tree carving of the Virgin Mary about 20 yrs. ago.. The message is the sign of knowing (faith), that God is here for us...”
“Thank you for the word. Had to look it up. Here it is for those who are also unfamiliar with the definition:
Pareidolia is a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus being perceived as significant, a form of apophenia.”
“i think prisoners who are going to be executed should have the opportunity to volunteer their organs for donation within an acceptable timeframe so it doesnt delay their sentence. it wouldnt really be considered execution since it would be voluntary and the outcome would be better than just another dead body, but saving another life in the process. kinda like a last gesture of good will. it also wouldnt be cruel and unusual punishment like it is in china. it would be nice to see something positive come out of the certain death of a criminal rather than just another corpse.”
“youve got some excellent points i didnt think about. i wasnt aware of all the issues china is facing either. like any idea its got a lot of unforeseen consequences. learn from china's mistakes or find an alternative. perhaps stem cells is the way to go. what are ur ideas?”

“I think it would be good for some prisoners to donate their organs, but just not as a way to delay their execution. Problem here is that if he donates his heart, would that then be considered an acceptable form of execution ? Or would it be cruel & unusual punishment ?
Transplants are always risky, for anyone receiving said organs. Even with a close family match, not all organs are accepted by the recipient.”
“not only should he be allowed to donate his organs, but all inmates waiting for death behind steel bars should be considered for organ donation. why waste all those perfectly good body parts?! there are plenty of people out there who really need them.”
ivanivonovich on Nov 13, 2013 at 22:32:53
“And some of those who need them are in prison themselves...So how do we coerce them to give up their organs & body parts without crossing the line of ethical actions. ? Do we go about it the way China has been doing so for more than 20 years ? And how do we determine which inmates must "donate" their organs, hopefully after they are dead.”

“They're not "perfectly good" organs at all. These are defective body parts, the genesis of defective genes and, therefore, their infected molecular structures can be imparted onto innocent recipients. Just cremate his remains after a humane, swift, well-deserved execution. PERIOD!”
“some decades ago homosexuals started using the term 'gay' to refer to their sexual orientation because being called 'homosexual' sounded too much like a medical term put upon them. i have to ask, what term do u find most appropriate?”
“this could have some validity, albeit this study was very small and limited. several previous tests have shown a link between the amount, timing, and duration of certain chemicals released during the development of the fetus. this could have a discernible effect on physical characteristics as well as mental.”
