A Missouri Value

Commented Oct 1, 2011 at 22:14:33 in Politics

“Someone wrote "name a single poor house that ever existed." I was reading old Newspaper items from old BARRY COUNTY MISSOURI newspapers on-line last year and there was mention of "grandma blank passing away in the poor house." I believe it is common knowledge that there were poor houses, poor farms and ORPHAN TRAINS back in "the good old days" when we relied on the churches (as Ron Paul suggests) to take care of people. (The old newspaper articles were pre-social security days, but try reading some history, if you think they never existed!)”

“Poor houses were a fact of life for many, even after the depression. Go back to the census worksheets of the 50's and you are likely to find several people with different surnames at a single address and researching that will often take you to newspaper mentions of the "poor houses". Many times they were called "poor farms" if they grew their own food as well. Anyone who has done genealogy research has likely run into this.”

“thinkingmillstone you said you can see I would have no problem killing any and all in the name of Christ? What was in my text to bring you to that conclusion? Or are you jumping to conclusions? I am a Christian, but I assure you I would not be thought of as such by any of the mainstream denominations. My favorite quotation is: "there is nothing wrong with Christianity, it's just that it hasn't been tied yet." When I read it it was attributed to anonymous. It reflects my sentiments exactly. Therefore I am not offended by Bill M. or Christopher Htchens or any who blast Christianity, because I know how they came by their opinions of it. Christ says to them in the "Fairytale" when they say "DID we not do this for you and that for you?" "GET AWAY FROM ME;I NEVER KNEW YOU." Just because someone says they did something for Christ, that doesn't mean HE approved it!”

“So what are you saying Mr. Koehler? Should we all be Quakers or Jehovah's Witnesses or "conscientous objectors? Good Luck signing the Muslims up as pascifists! (Oh, beg your pardon, I should have said "the radical muslims." If I were politically correct, which I am not.) Usually.”

“Glad to see I stirred up the flow of Israel Haters. dannybuild: you are correct Sir; Israel has no ambition to rule the world, but Jesus Christ, (the star of the "fairytale") does, and He will, and Jerusalem will be the Capital. The nations will go up each year to WORSHIP at Jerusalem, and if they don't they will receive no rain. (Blessings.) Through the Jews all families of the earth will be blessed. As for the "fairytale" take a peek at Isaiah 17:1 and watch. It is coming, sooner than later. Damascus has never been destroyed. Yet. It will become a ruinous heap. After it attacks Israel you will see that fullfilled. The "Fairytale" also said Russia would back Syria and Iran in their hatred and attacks on Israel. Laugh all you like NOW, but when you see the "Fairytale" coming true before your eyes, you will know. No, you will not beleve your own eyes, you'd rather believe your far more ridiculous fairytale that everything is just an accident. G'Day Mates”

“Israel will rule the world. Jerusalem will be the Capital of the world, when you bring your armies against Israel, as the Bible says you WILL, JEHOVAH will roar out of ZION and fight for his people as He did in the days of old. You are sticking your fingers in God's eyeball. Think the world has trouble now? Keep it up. They Who come against Isreal will lick the dust. Got a Bible? Borrow it from the library. Read it and weep. Israel will regain all the land God gave Abraham too, and you will all learn to love it!. Israel," I will bless those who bless her and curse those who curse her." Even "W" knew that much! Keep it up and see.”

“You have been awarded the General Ripper award from the Dr. Strangelove movie. Least you forget, he was the crazy General who launched a B-52 strike against Russia to alert the world to the dangers of floridation in the drinking water. He didn't quote to Bible to justify war.”
