“Maybe you need to acknowledge that 99.9% of the 300 million gun owners in this country do not break gun laws. They don't shoot up schools, or movie theaters, or even military bases.”

“Thanks for completely redefining the 1st Amendment. Governments have in the past and will again ban subversive talk, even between people. Does it mean that you can be stopped from doing it? Of course not. Just like you can't stop criminals from getting guns. But when the government can impose fines and punishment for it you will no longer have the freedom of speech. When you have to have a license to speak aloud in public then it will be the same as the infringement currently on the 2nd Amendment.”

ilovemyrights on Dec 8, 2013 at 22:05:03

“I might also point out that if you yell fire in the theater, no one is going to stop you, they are going to prosecute you for having done. Same should and indeed does apply to the 2nd Amendment. If you don't do anything, you have your rights, if you threaten someone or shoot them, then you are going to be prosecuted. Simple and effective and we need no more "laws" to make this happen.”

Amusing that in the hundreds of thousands of gun ads I've seen, no major manufacturer has ever advertised their products as get them before they are banned.”

“How is that the appropriate analogy? The Freedom of Speech guaranteed in the Constitution has little to do with private conversations. It is about public speech - speech in the public sphere. You can say pretty much whatever you damned well please in private to anybody without the need for the Constitution.”

“The hype of "get your gun ammo now" is not due to the industry, it is due to the gun grabbers and their attempts to ban firearms. This is a fact. You just can't blame the gun industry for Americans buying weapons when it is the fear of what Congress will do that is actually driving the sales.”

“Amusing post with great indicator or reasoning power of nra droids., The "Gun grabber marketing paranoia has worked at least five times in past, nothing happened but lots of profit for gun industry. Yep another well thought our post on why the paranoid rush to buy guns/ammor at increasingly high prices, but NO proven "gun grabbing", guess simple scare impacts simple minds to "rush out en gut mu guns';etc. Amusing how your post blames someone who did nothing and industry scare techniques worked every time. Sure displays collective thought process of customers”

“And a baby, maybe! Safe or not, I'd be nervous holding a baby anywhere near a gun.
Those two things just don't belong near each other if my peace of mind is going to survive. I don't even like it when the guy brings out one of his to show to a friend even though I know it's not loaded and he obviously never points it near anyone.
I tell him "Get those things away from my dogs, thank you!"
It makes me nervous.”

“It is isn't paranoia, it is preparedness. Why are so few people concerned with their personal protection? I haven't a clue, and it really doesn't concern me (though from the number of chl permits issued in the US, more are concerned than you believe). You have the choice, you can depend on a police force that hardly ever protects anyone (mostly just writing tickets or doing paperwork after the harm has already been done), or you can take it upon yourself to responsibly protect yourself.”

“How on Earth is a small business going to be found liable for a person going on a killing spree, much less shooting a single round off in its store?”

Jasmine Adamson on Dec 5, 2013 at 14:32:15

“Well, if they hang a sign that guns aren't allowed, and they fail to provide some other form of security, and you get shot by someone who isn't following the rules, then I can totally see the business being held liable. Hanging the sign makes you liable. That's where these business owners have it backwards - if you exist as a part of America that is regulated by the rule of law, then you are protected by that law, but if you try to create an environment above and beyond that rule of law, then it becomes your responsibility to make sure you do that safely. Allowing lawful activities on your property does not make you liable. Restricting people in a way that reduces their safety DOES make you liable.”

Hopefully you won't have to come back and have me explain what is so flawed about that. And as to you preferring your chances with a robber than a law abiding gun owner... you may want to consider that only one of them would be breaking the law in that situation. Your comments reflect emotion, not thinking.”
