“There are atleast 5 bookstores (granted 1 is XXX and off the highway) that I can think of off the top of my head between Dallas and Waco (I35E, who knows how many on I35W). You actually need to leave the interstate. If you aren't willing to drive through those little towns on the highway then you probably won't find anything but restaurants between Dallas and Waco.”

The white suburbs around the cities (places like The Woodlands and Sugarland) vote Republican as well. Only rural predominantly white counties and predominantly white suburbs vote Republican. All Texas cities vote Democratic and the entire Rio Grande valley from El Paso to the ocean vote Democratic. Obama got 44% of the vote in Nov. 2008. The Republicans have a stranglehold on state politics because of gerrymandering.”
