“Yeah, it says the numbers are overstated. You have to question WHO is dying from this and other illnesses. Are they healthy? Do they have other health compromises? Do they eat McDonald's every day? Medicine does not completely understand natural immunity. It is impossible to prevent everyone from all diseases. We need to be exposed to germs and the like to build our immunity. And sometimes we die. That's part of the bargain for living.”

Nunyabiz1 replied on Oct 25, 2009 at 11:35:29

“Not to mention if your natural immune system is compromised then all the vaccines in the world is not going to do a thing.”

“Nader is no more an egomaniac than any other politician. And yeah the spoilers will continue to be spoilers in a country full of sheeple incapable of greater complexity. Always fun to watch the drama and emotional retardation! Better than tv. Everyone contorted in self righteousness and gloom and doom certainty.... great for the giggles.”

“Or maybe two parties don't reflect the vast diversity of Americans? So bored by the spoiler argument.”

CarbonDate replied on Oct 12, 2009 at 20:51:33

“The problem is the way that the Electoral College is set up. Any Presidential candidate has to garner over 50% of the electoral vote in order to win, otherwise it gets thrown to the House of Representatives.

Third party candidates can and do win in congressional elections, though.”

MJHammonds replied on Oct 12, 2009 at 20:30:44

“Right or wrong, the spoiler argument has been proved time and again.”

Bobbygoode replied on Oct 12, 2009 at 20:27:43

“It's called REALITY. Yeah, in 2000, the relentless egomaniac, doomed-to-Hell Nader (whose Green Party accepted Republican campaign money) was a "spoiler" because of all the disaffected voters. That resulted in Bush. Hey, we'll certainly take the reverse of that scenario. Call 'em whatever you want. Hey instead of "spoilers", they are "righteous candidates who speak to the will of the people". If "the people" means those kooks (or should I say, misguided folks) of 9/12, good luck!”

Girlfriends' Guide...Who Needs A Therapist When You Have The Obamas' Decorator?

Commented Jun 06, 2009 at 10:32:51 in Living

“not only that... an intelligent being adapts to its environment, meaning it EVOLVES. In a world that needs no more humans beings and is in jeopardy due to unevolved human behaviors, the monkey card is looking pretty pathetic. Men can grow past the egocentric need to spread their seed. Unfortunately women are still dumb enough to sleep with those who are incapable of moving along the human development path. I've definitely been guilty. But I've never procreated with one.”

“So the facade of the happy married breeder is crumbling. Thank God. Women and men need a new way of loving one another and ummmm... the world doesn't need any more people.”

lulumother replied on Jun 07, 2009 at 06:52:05

“Cont'd...
Yes, I think it os all related. Most want easy, simple, dumb downed. Vicki was not a creator of this dumbed down, me first culture, she was a victim of it. And one sees the wreckage it leaves in its wake. One must always do the right thing, One must rise to the challenges in life...our men need to rise to the challenge of overcoming pathetic sexual impulses and stand for their family. When one does the right thing, while there might be some sacrifice involved, it is the right kind. When one rises above impulses and challenges and does the right thing, one's family is NOT the sacrifice to serve one's own needs. This is what makes us human and sets up apart from other animals. There are such joys to be gained from living one's lifetime with a partner. My parent's divorced friends are stuggling, with life, bills, relationships. We were not designed to chuck people aside when it suits us. The damage it leaves in its wake if sorrowful.”

lulumother replied on Jun 07, 2009 at 06:48:12

“Perhaps you have failed to notice that most of Europe has a negative population growth..yes, they do. Check it out. That means they cannot replace their current population. At an alarming rate I might add. It is a critical situation in Europe as they will not have any way of supporting their elderly, their tax base in shrinking, etc. This includes many countries around the globe. We (Americans) are at about break even ONLY when including immigration. T/ comment "the world doesn't need anymore people." is just a bit highschool, don't you think? Secondly, I can list many, many happily married couples. My parents just celebrated their 43 wedding anniversary. I have celebrated our 14th. Nothing compared to 43 but I am a bit younger. And what men and women need are more examples of good marriages, support and encouragement from family and friends to create a committed, loving family. Not some man who does not engage his brain or overcome his natural impulses and says, well, everyone else is doing it. Again, bit high school, don't you think. Have we dumbed ourselves down that much that we say we cannot be in a long lasting relationship? Marriage does not work? We need something easier? Kind of like mothering.."that is soooo hard, gee, get a nanny or put them in daycare. That way one only has to parent them on evenings and weekends"”

“ouch kday...i think you reacted. advocate has a point. you can be compassionate and recognize that humans make choices. and that we have to take responsibility for those choices. if you choose to murder someone, you will have rough justice, internally or externally. The bleeding heart left is too often willing to excuse behavior. we have rights AND responsibility.”

Playinjured replied on Feb 21, 2009 at 14:18:20

“So very true. It would appear there are many responsible individuals commenting on this post such as yourself, ggfree, and advocate. It's always the responsible ones who are the best at pointing out the fouls of the irresponsible. It is much more responsible of the responsible to point out the flaws of the irresponsible and tell them they should be more responsible, like them, the responsible ones, like you, ggfree, and advocate. Instead of burdening themselves with all that responsibility that comes with dealing with the irresponsible, the responsible simply point out to the irresponsible, "hey, you shouldn't do that." I'm being sarcastic. Is there anything in your life, ggfree, that someone could be critical over? Excusing behavior is much different than comprehending behavior. If you feel you are more responsible than the people you are co-signing with advocate to criticize, than you may be so responsible, just as a human being, to burden yourself with some those irresponsible people's responsibilities. Just a thought.”

roald replied on Feb 20, 2009 at 21:51:22

“You are correct in the point about people making choices. On the other hand, does advocate think "these people" are poor and disadvantaged or Black?”

“Buddha, Jesus, Ghandi, MLK, Chavez, JFK, RFK and Reagan (yuk) were all cekebrities in there own right. The difference is that the media has become so expansive and the news cycle is literally non-stop. Not to mention President Obama's administration is an anomaly widely regarded as being a near impossibility. People are amazed every time he does something because this is literally a first for the world. He's not just our President, he's the most powerful man and leader of the free world. “?

Presidents are famous, they're photographed and followed. They -are- celebrities.

Personally, I'd rather see people fascinated by a celebrity who is smart and hard-working and trying to solve the most important problems of our time, than some fantasy movie star and who he's dating.

Celebrity's not bad. And of course its wonderful for many of us to see our president and feel proud and happy instead of....angry, outraged and embarrassed.

I think Obama's popularity is -only- a positive.”

“maybe we get the country we ARE? some of the most ideological, violent and unhappy people are those that think the government is the fault. Yeah, protest is a way to feel connected to other angry, righteous people, but we would do far more if we went to city council meetings on a regular basis, had real conversations with lots of people about issues, NOT sides or political parties, and yeah, performed lots of random acts of kindness. kindness and love are way more radical and powerful than anger and righteousness. pay attention to where you give your money. wicked corps, or those trying genuinely to be members of the community. Im so sick of people demanding change, but are clearly pretty in need of change themselves.”
