“Alex Hunter was a gutless wonder of a prosecutor. He never took anything to trial. As a retired police officer when I moved to Boulder, I was appalled that he did pre-charging pleadings. In otherwords he would plead down the charge before the cops could book the subject because Hunter never went to trial in order to preserve his "batting average" (number of cases won vs. number lost). His lack of prosecutorial skills were brought to the max with the Ramsey case and he moved on. .thankfully. The Boulder Police made some protocol errors but Hunter compounded them many times over. To that point I had never encountered a prosecutor arranging an "appointment" for the police to interview the prime suspects. In the large urban city I came from, they were hauled in within hours whether it was an inconvenience or not. But I don't think the media has a right to Grand Jury transcropts. All Grand Jury testimony/indictments are rendered in secret no matter what state and to break that seal is ludicrous. Sometimes the only way to gather enough evidence is to promise that witness identity will be held in secret. The media does NOT have the right to know everything, they just think they do.”
“This whole mare's nest is the result of people who WORK for a living being outnumbered by those that VOTE for a living. And if the Congress/Senate who pushed it through don't want it as THEIR mandate. . you know it must be just swell. IF it is mandated for one. .it should be mandated for all. The government should not try to compell compliance of corporations when the government's own mandaters/workers don't want anything to do with it and don't have to have it applied to themselves and/or their familiies.”

“Wrong genius " A source within Universal Orlando told The Huffington Post that the theme park won't save any money by discontinuing the health insurance plan, since it doesn't spend any money on it." Discontinuing something they aren't paying for is taking a real stand against Obamacare. Two, Obamacare is set up the way Congress gets its insurance now, matter of fact, Congress will have to participate in Obamacare when it comes online 2014.”
“If guns shoot people. . then pens/pencils are to blame for misspelled words and forks have caused all the obesity in this country. It is common sense. . it is not the implement, it is the way it is used and by whom it is used. No matter what the statute, the criminal element will never be bound by it. Video games impact perceptions in young minds, so they can very well cause actions without thought of the actual repercussions. And no matter the economic level, they may not have food or shelter but they have access to the latest most violent video games for some reason.”

“"horrible rush to judgment". . What about the horrible delay in reporting. .the despicable denial of due process and the the horrible dismissal of the victim's plights. . give me a break!!! Football is NOT more important than protecting children. Your hero had feet of clay-up to his knees and beyond. Honored? If he had lived, I am sure he would be facing his own trial for complicity, conspiracy, obstructing justice, abetting after the fact. . and many other charges he deserved. I hope Satan honored him with a nice place in the deepest, hottest pit of hell in HONOR of all those victims he could have saved and did not . .being more interested in preserving holy Penn State football and his own image/status.”

“I don't think I would judge this old mans motives , That's what we are not to judge , He was still an old settled man when this terrible thing surfaced , I would never hope anyone would face this type of thing . I know my dad was a very strong man of character , however when he reached his mid 70's like Joe when this happened , his judgment on issues weren't quite as good as years before. You'll begin to understand as you get much older.”
“Finally an end to the Violet "WHINE" fest. . I have watched since the beginning and every season all this character does is whine. Proabaly a good thing to end the show now that she is widowed I could foresee endless histrionics on her part. She should have dehydrated 2 seasons back. .enough is sometimes not . . soon enough.”

“As to my "narrow" view of the poor. . I am a senior living on a fixed income from a disability pension issued by a large urban city. . trust me I know poor. . and I also know first hand just how3 much documentation is involved in surving daily living these days.”

“You may be poor, but you do not apparently "know" poor.
As I noted above, a lot of poor people aren't on those programs.
This is a shameful effort at voter suppression that you are supporting.
“And you are sadly unaware that almost anything these days requires picture ID. . cashing a check..picking up mail that was held at the post office etc. . you have "tunnel" vision . It is not always about the DNC vs. the RNC and their beliefs. . most things are common sense. . swomething all politicians seem to lose as soon as they are elected. . IF they ever had any to begin with. Picture ID at polls=violation of anyone's rights is a ludicrous argument. You probably think the TSA is safeguarding America as well.”
JacksonJones on Aug 2, 2012 at 11:32:50
“" almost anything these days requires picture ID..."
Please escuse me for declining to mistake your cracker-barrel folk wisdom for a sound basis for either public policy of denying Americans their fundamental right to vote.
In this case,it quite clearly is a republican effort to deny the vote to people who are likely to vote democratic, as the GOP in PA made clear in open court and in statements defending the effort on account of it being one that will "let Mitt Romney win this state."
“If you are speaking of the poor. .they have a "public assistance" card. . or their food stamp card. . or their clinic card. .everyone less entitled has a government card of some type like a social security card. . Medicare/Medicaid card". .this has nothing to do with preventing eligible voters from voting and everything to do with stopping generations of voter fraud.”
JacksonJones on Aug 1, 2012 at 18:57:37
“You have a rather narrow view of "the poor."
Not all poor people are on public assistance or medicaid, even if they are eligible. Moreover, do you know if all or any of those forms of ID have pics?
This has *everything* to do with stopping voters from voting. Specifically, voters who are likely to vote for Democrats.
You may be willing to fool yourself, but the GOP knows this quite well, which is why the GOP senator in PA defended the effort as one that would allow Romney to win the state, i.e., he knows that it will stop people from voting.....mostly people who are likely to support President Obama.
“It was a choice of the lesser of two evils. .the Deomcratic crook/candidate had bilked the citizens of millions of retirement dollars. Scott was just a corporate crook . . like the rest of them. In a state with a large senior population, she was not going to get elected dog catcher. . shame on the DNC for backing her. At least Scott is NOT Jeb Bush. . thankful for small miracles.”
“I have lived in Missouri, Colorado and now Florida. I have been asked to present my voter registration in all three states. . I have always assumed thats why they issue them. Of course I am a white, Catholic. . so maybe it is "religious" persecution as well as the racial bias you imply. Identify yourself as a registered voter, receive a ballot. . seems pretty straight forward. . ;)”
Estel on Aug 12, 2012 at 16:14:34
“My name was on the registered to vote rolls...I signed my name and voted...simple process...follows kis principle...anything else is voter suppression...”
“Florida deems the following acceptable forms of picture ID for use at voting preceincts:
a valid driver's license
a state ID card
a US passport
Debit or credit card WITH Photo on it
Neighborhood Association ID
Public Assistance ID
How is the name of good sense is using any of the above considered a "poll tax". . most everyone has at least one . . if not more of the above in their pocket or purse.
So the deceased are no longer eligible to vote. . the illegals are not ever eligible to vote along with convicted felons. .how is removing the 'deadwood" a problem. . except for those patronage job lackeys who drive the same people from poll to poll voting in their grandchildren's middle name. .I don't think any one is being imposed upon.”
JacksonJones on Aug 1, 2012 at 15:32:01
“"most everyone has at least one ..."
Most do, perhaps, but even citizens that do not have the right to vote.
Since there is really no problem with voting fraud of which to speak, as the GOP admitted in a PA courtroom, the policy to which you offer your sympathy is one designed to prevent eligible voters from casting a ballot to solve a problem that doesn't exist.
In reality, the policy is designed to solve a problem, but not the stated one. The actual problem that the policy seeks to address is the insufficient appeal to the electorate of the GOP among minorities and the poor, which are the people most likely not to fall within your category of "most everyone has at least one ..."
Denying Americans the right to vote on a cynical ploy like that is shameful.”

“More election smoke and mirrors. . convenient no one found this til now this far into his SECOND campaign . .more BS from the Administration that does nothing for no one except themselves. Get rid of all the incumbents on both sides. . start fresh. . couldn't be any worse than what we already are saddled with. The children & seniors are tired of having their funds looted for everyone's personal agendas. And if the illegals are sneaking over here for the "American Dream". . the media should alert them that it isn't so dreamy any more!!!”
“Hopefully scenery chewer extraordinaire Williams will not jinx this program like every other one he has been on that were canceled. With so many other actors in that age bracket who not only look better but can actually act, this choice leaves me shaking my head. One can only wish William's storyline is very brief because his performances are right up there with Ashton Kutcher reading a phone book. . both so very riveting. . NOT!!!”
“"provided thousands of documents". . old phone books, laundry lists, restaurant receipts, recipes??? These are ALL documents. . just not pertinent to the matter at hand. Hand over the relevant documents , stop the cover up and end this fiasco. Since everything that has happened in the last 3 years is STILL Bush's fault this pretender to the throne has done even less than thought possible. Take your yellow drapes out of the Oval office and begone and take Holder and your other henchmen with you!! And before you all start with the "partisan" bull. . I would guess you never were a Democrat. Your post fits right in with the other people that have such a deep hatred for the Obama administration that you feel facts be damned. Read the Fortune Magazine piece
There is what fast and furious is all about.
And if you were a "lifelong democrat", I can only think that what upsets you is this Presidents skin color. Because as a moderate democrat, he has done nothing to earn your displeasure. On the contrary he has done much good in his first term.”

“So much for Huff Post's Mo Ryan and her insight. . please can the (expletive deleted) and get someone with less bias and more talent to tell us what we should/shouldn't be watching. “Their parents can enroll them in alternative paid education programs. . let the little darlings work off the cost. . or home school them to keep them current. The parents need more involvement anyway. . there is usually some parent/child break down that the bullying arises from. What is your brillant alternative. .weekends picking up trash at the mall. .while their friends stand around and watch and joke with them??? These days age has very little to do with criminal behaviors. .law enforcement/legislature has to keep adjusting for younger and younger offenders. .as bad behavior escalates among the grade schoolers etc. The parents need to step up. .it is not the schools place to "civilize". . it is their job to educate. Manners/good behavior is learned in the home. .hence the argument for "nuture" vs. "nature". No one is making thugs out of these children but lack of parental control is certainly a contributing factor.”
