Arianna On Leno: Memo To Men: Don't Have Affairs With Your Employees Unless You're Letterman

“I agree. It probably was a bad idea. Office relationships usually work out badly.

Letterman was unmarried when these flings took place. Isn't that what single people do?

If he were married and cheating on his wife, I could understand the outrage. If the women involved started suing him for harassment, I could understand the outrage. But when a single man or woman engages in "sexual play" what is so outrageous about that? A bad idea. OK. Outrageous!
I don't think so.

Unless and until we find out more details about this Letterman fling with his female employees, I think that we all need to get off of our high horses. Most of us know someone who is cheating on his or her spouse right now. OMG!”

Dr Tiller was murdered in cold blood by a coward not a Christian. No true Christian would condone MURDER.”

I bet you get your "news" from the likes of NYT, LAT, HuffPos, etc. Now, those are "fair and balanced", aren't they? There is one news media outlet in the entire US that is pro-America, and you hate it. YOU CAN"T HANDLE THE TRUTH.

Election Anxiety: What To Do If The "Other Side" Wins

Commented Oct 27, 2008 at 12:54:53 in Living

“When Ronald Regan was elected, I lost my job shortly thereafter. You say I can't blame him for that. I say you're wrong. I worked for a bank and the bank was a casualty of the savings and loan disaster.

I eventually got another job, but it was for less than half the income I was making at the bank. With the help of the Clinton years, I recovered.

When Bush was elected, I almost lost my job, again, to downsizing. I took a pay cut, again, to keep a job.
I have been hanging on and trying to stay under the radar; getting jobs that are least likely to be downsized or cut.

If McCain/Palin manage to steal this election, how much you want to bet I lose my job, again.

Coincidence? I don't think so. I'll be homeless and on the street and they will probably blame me for my situation.
Please, America, don't let these people do this to us again.
Vote Obama/Biden”

forebode replied on Oct 29, 2008 at 00:03:10

“Amen, and I feel for you. A lot of people are already homeless because Bush and Cheney let a lot of Banks and Real Estate companies engage in crooked business practices. When people lose their livelihoods, they have also little to lose BY STARTING A REVOLUTION THAT WILL TURN THE TABLES ON THE NEO-FASCISTS that have stolen the last two elections and will make a very serious effort to steal this one.

As we approach this election, we need to go into a "shields up" at your battle stations state of readiness because the ride is going to get bumpy. I don't think I can stand to hear McCain's nasal snively voice for the next four years, and the pure hatefulness of his rhetoric. He will not be able to win without cheating, and we cannot allow him to get away with cheating. Failure is not an option.”

I went to school in the deep south during desegration. It took me a while to understand Obama and what he represents. There is a mindset you get from living thru, surviving, all that violent racism. It's hard to shake it.
The Obama campaign for President helped me to see "over the mountain top". I'm over 55 years old and I feel like something really transformational is about to happen in this country; something really difficult but something really good.”

"Yes we can!" "You are the change you've been waiting for." "It's never been about me. It's about you."
How is that "egomaniacal"? Because he is confident? Because he inspires? Because he is educated and smart? Just tools of the political trade if you ask me.

Everybody except the supporters of Barack Obama view him as messianic or egomaniacal. What you don't seem to get is that he has tapped into a grassroots desire for change and he has convinced me and others that our participation is absolutely required. I really believe that I can make a difference. Barack Obama is responsible for creating the spark that ignites my civic activism. What’s so sinister about that?
There's nothing "messianic" about my support for Obama. I disagree with him on a number of his policy positions. He is not my savior. He is not our savior. We are Americans. We are our own saviors. That’s what he’s been trying to tell us. Get fired up! Get involved!
I listened. You should too.”

“Yes, I'll have that debate. Your arrogance is amazing.
You don't get to decided who is Christian and who is not? That's the arrogance of many who claim to be Christian, humbled before Christ, but want to speak and decide for Christ. You can't know the mind of God. That's why he says "Judge not lest you be judged."
You can be Christian and be a sinner, isn't that true? Doesn't Christ embrace and love all, even sinners. You have the right to call abortion a sin but you don't have the right to condemn me for having one. God makes the final judgment, not you. So take care that you are not pointing to a sin of mine while committing sin yourself.”

“This is not about Palin's pregnant teenage daughter. It's about the questionable judgement of her mother and father for shoving her into the political arena and not taking steps to immunize her from the very predictable media onslaught. Whether you are a GOP partisan or not, this kind of media circus over a teenage pregnancy in the White House is a scandal waiting for a prime time special.

That Mccain couldn't see that is truly poor judgement.

Palin should have turned down the VP offer and put her daughter's welfare first. But she didn't. That tells me something about her judgement.”

Why Do We White People Dislike Michelle Obama?

“Your reply is so common among people who don't want to admit that they dislike African Americans.
The "not having been proud of America until her husband won votes" quote was intentionally missquoted here by you. Michelle never said anything like that. So you misunderstood what she said as well.
You need something to cling on to to rationalize your dislike of Michelle because the truth would be too embarrassing; to actually come out and admit that you really just don't like Black people.

There really is nothing to dislike about Michelle Obama. She is a great mom, a happy and fulfilled professional woman and wife, she and Barack seem to have a happy and loving marriage with two adorable and well adjusted girls. What's not to like? An American Family! (Yeah, Black people have happy and well adjusted families in real life not just on TV.)

If Michelle Obama were white, we wouldn't be having this conversation.”

And success breeds envy and worse. That she is black just rubs her success in. A successful black woman? When I can hardly make ends meet? Now that is threatening.

A successful black woman. A successful woman, on her own two feet. Successful regardless that her husband is the presumptive democratic nominee for president. That's intimidating to a lot of folks regardless of the color of their skin. Because most of us are just schmeils and we are white! Yikes!!”

HRC thinks she already knows what's best for me. What I think doesn't matter to her or the old style politicians. That's why they play these political games. HRC doesn't care about me, the Democratic Party, or the Middle Class. Just as long as she wins.”
