“Well, I'm sure Bill will rev up the nastiness somehow trying to regain first place. But they are both there for a short time. When it comes to being number one among the truly dedicated Foxers out there, Glenn will lead them all. Why, he may even eventually get the job of telling the GOP how to run its operations and beat out Rush for that position.”

“And, of course, only the Republicans do. I'll tell my Democratic son that. Those years he spent in the army were a waste of time, since he's not a big, patriotic Republican.

By the way, most the "Republicans" I've seen at the various teabagger functions have never read the constitution, from what I can tell....oh, except the second amendment.”

“Do notable people never retire? If he was your elderly uncle at the family Thanksgiving get together, all the cousins would be rolling their eyes at his remarks. But since he's not, his remarks are discussed as if they were chapter and verse. I'm surprised his column doesn't begin, "Back in my day.......".”

“This is like watching Frankenstein duke it out with Dracula. It's hard to find anyone to root for. My heart tells me that John McCain deserves anything that comes his way after Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber and the total dumbing down of all things in politics. He's responsible for a lot of this. However, the thought of some opportunist who gets in bed with the teabaggers actually going to Congress gives me the chills. Like I said Dracula and Frankenstein.”

“It will never happen. All the lovely evangelican Christian Churches that tell their members how to vote have come to have too much power. So, neither the Catholics or the evenagelicals are ever going to be called on their meddling in politics. By the way, hard as this is to believe, this is mostly the Bishops of the Catholic Church pulling this stuff. Most of the poor parish priests are just trying to keep their parishes above the rising waters.”

“And that is why the Catholic Church becomes less relevant every day. Right now, instead of trying to make true amends for the years of neglect in the priest scandals, they are now investigating the American nuns, flexing their feeble muscle at politicians, and making full-time nuisances of themselves. Meanwhile, there are fewer and fewer of the faithful in the pews each week. Down the street, the local fell-good Church has former Catholics falling out the doors.

Not a great business model.”

“Let's see...good values. Letting Levi sleep over with daughter, shading the truth more than a little bit on the McCain campaign, spending 150k on clothes, then blaming the expenditure on someone else when questioned. Yep, great values. Oh, and being totally unprepared for the governorship and vp position. You don't expect much of people, do you?”

“This entire incident, on both sides, seems to be wildly overblown. Not everytime a person is in trouble for rude behavior is it necessary to get the police involved. Not everytime a black person acts like a fool or does something rude is it a "racially charged" incident. Just sounds like another day at the local Walmarts.”

“I, for one, am looking forward to hearing what the Catholic Bishops have to say about all this. After 30 years of abortion beign the reason that they've pushed the Republican Party line to parishioners, I'll be interested to hear what they have to say about all this. Will they tell Republican employees not to present themselves for Holy Communion, as they did with Joe Biden and other Catholic senators who were pro-choice? Will they get up in pulpits across the nation and denounce this hypocrisy for what it is? I'm going to go out on a limb and say no. There will be some extenuating circumstance that makes this all okay....or it will just be ignored. Hypocrisy doesn't end with the GOP.”

“May I point out that the major was wounded in the act? It is extremely difficult to pronounce someone innocent until proven guilty when that person was shot in the act of a mass murder. I agree that there may be an extenuating mental condition, but he did the crime. This is not a smear, anymore than it's a smear when any person of any religion is shot under similar circumstances.”
