Beyond the Headlines and Under the Bra

Commented Nov 18, 2009 at 04:53:07 in Living

“Curcumin (Tumeric) is a commonly available anti-cancer herb you can take.

Many of the items in the Hoxsey formula can be bought as herbal capsules.

Esiac components are probably available as well.”

LegalCodex replied on Nov 18, 2009 at 06:12:10

“Considering all anti-cancer drugs and herbs(redundant, as the herbs talked about are drugs) are poisons, I would much rather take the mixture approved by the FDA, which would allow me to sue in certain cases, than self-medicate myself and hope that I don't die.”

Obama, China, and Wishful Thinking About American Jobs

Commented Nov 18, 2009 at 04:37:42 in Politics

“He hasn't used the word, but he has discussed the core problem: distribution of income.

Since the time of Reagan income in the US has been continuously distributed upward.

Getting the economy moving in both the US and China requires distributing income downward.

I see no signs that the top 1% recognizes the problem, much less is willing to do about it.

Ultimately the wealth of the top 1% depends on the masses buying products and services.”

Memo to Warren Buffett: Put Down the Pom-Poms and Tell Us the Truth About the Economy

Commented Nov 17, 2009 at 05:05:37 in Business

“Reality will have the last word on all of this.

But there won't be much laughter.

First, we have to stop exporting jobs using taxpayer dollars.

Then we need to bring back the jobs that have already been lost.

If Americans wear shoes, we need to make shoes in America, and everything else we use as well.”

It's an UBER MEGA RICH ELITE STANDOFF. They want American Families and businesses to "BOW DOWN TO THEM."
Yet they have the nerve to talk, about the "symbol of respect" in Asia.

Uber Mega Rich Overseers can ki$$ my poor @&&!
I say Buck them all, for grinding their heels in the middle class, poor and sick's faces!”

Changeizgood replied on Nov 17, 2009 at 09:33:51

“Replace the Greedy's corporations, that left. They used to have a name WE respected and they shafted US without lubricant. Still want to take it up the gazoo?
C'mon people, Keith Olbermann and others had to "open free clinics to the poor" in the states of those who said they will vote against it.

We can't go without jobs, so let's replace the missing pieces of our economy.
Buck those greedy slave wage payers!
American workers quality and longevity of products is what made us great.
Not temporary parts or products that have to be bought again and again like toilet paper.
In fact most of the cheap junk is like toilet paper as you can ONLY USE IT One time.
Case in point, the antique tags on cars from the seventies and sixties and thirties that are still running as long as the parts are still made.
C'mon people, America has a reputation to uphold, lift your end and invest in the smaller unknown named companies doing the green technology. The more that get started, the more the unemployment #'s drop and people get back to normal.”

A Wake Up Call on Jobs

Commented Nov 16, 2009 at 11:05:21 in Politics

“There is no hope if they continue to use our tax dollars to send our jobs out of the country.

One hope I have is that disappointing earnings this year will cause a lot of churn in the top executive suites.

Those guys are paid to get results, not complain about the economy.

Churn in the corner offices may bring in people who realize that Corporate America has been on a self-destructive path for many years.

This collapse is a consequence of the beliefs and actions of the people who have been running the country.

Those people will not likely change, so the solution will be to change the people out.”

A New Green Youth Movement

Commented Nov 09, 2009 at 21:29:40 in Green

“Nuclear has been lapped by solar, which now competes with natural gas and gets better all the time.”

toje replied on Nov 10, 2009 at 09:25:34

“Not so sure about that. Especially if you subscribe to the notion that there are cascading qualities of energy. Nuclear energy is at the top of that spectrum, and depending on which form of solar energy is being discussed, it would be much lower down the spectrum. Don't get me wrong, solar is great, and should continue to be developed, improved and expanded, but the high quality sources of energy that come from natural gas, and nuclear need to be included in our national energy portfolio, as well. This either/or scenario is what is screwing up the debate.”

Is the House Health Care Bill Better than Nothing?

Commented Nov 09, 2009 at 09:34:47 in Politics

“I think this bill is worse than nothing.

It's a complete giveaway to the insurance industry, and does little about costs.

It's obscene that 1/6 of our money should be going to health care with no end in sight for increasing costs. They aren't doing a good enough job to justify the money.

It would be better to keep this issue alive as the centerpiece of the 2010 election.”

The Ten Most Important Things to Know about the 2009 H1N1

Commented Sep 18, 2009 at 09:00:32 in Living

“One of the important things to know about the 1918 pandemic deaths was that tuberculosis was also very widespread at that time. Many people died because their immune systems were already severely compromised.

It's also important to know that most flu vaccines contain mercury, one of the most toxic substances there is.

Finally, the so-called Swine Flu is man made, and you have to question the motives of everyone who is promoting it.”

notconfindtweenhatnboots replied on Sep 18, 2009 at 09:36:24

“Even if/since the mercury in the vaccinations is toxic, shouldn't older people still get their annual seasonal flu vaccinations? The mercury isn't going to have the chance to build up in older people, like it does in younger ones.

For younger people, you have to weigh the small risk of mercury toxicity with the possible benefits of vaccinations. If you have severe underlying health conditions, getting a flu shot (seasonal, or for H1N1 or both) may still make sense even if the they are slightly toxic due to the mercury..... Perhaps those who are younger and still choose to get the flu shots need to be more vigilant about avoiding all the other potential sources of mercury in our environment (fish, tooth fillings, broken light bulbs, HFCS, etc.).”

Recovery: The New Black

Commented Sep 17, 2009 at 10:08:14 in Business

“Macroeconomic statistics are not the acid test of recovery.

The acid test is full employment.”

jackiero replied on Sep 17, 2009 at 10:18:31

“Agreed. There may be random bright spots in the recovery, but the unemployment rate is still dreadful. Worse still are the income levels. I took a 20% cut in my salary, which was then reduced further when 401k matches were dropped and health insurance rates went up nearly 60% (bastards...in a freaking recession no less!). The best my employer MAY do is restore my salary to its 2008 levels, but that has been stagnant since 2006, the last time I saw a raise. Economic recovery is directly tied to income. If only rich people can spend, it's not going to do that much for the rest of us.”

So it Begins -- the August Attack on Health Care Reform

Commented Aug 03, 2009 at 09:34:36 in Politics

“This so-called reform is an absolute fraud.

Nothing will change.

It simply guarantees that those who are getting the money will continue to get the money.

What we really need is Medicare as the basic system for all with private insurance for extra coverage, just like in Europe.”

hark replied on Aug 03, 2009 at 10:20:49

“It is not fraud. It guarantees every American access to affordable health care no matter what the status of their health is. That is a godsend to millions of Americans. All of us, actually, if we consider that we are always at risk for losing our health care if we lose our jobs, or, irony of ironies, our state of health goes south. That is a huge societal accomplishment.

Just because single-payer, which is not a panacea - look at Medicare - is off the table doesn't mean progressives should pick up their marbles and go home in a snit.”

When the weapons have grown dull and spirits depressed, when our strenght has been expended and resources consumed, than the feudal lords will take advantage of our exhaustion to arise.
