“Ahh i see, better to let the insurance companies drive up the cost and keep the profits, ah yes , you make perfect sense to me, and you know what?? If I'm lucky maybe a could get a job as a gardener or some thing at one of the insurance executives estates, and after all i should be grateful for that as well. I really think it's awful that most insurance executives could only raise their bonuses by 25 or 30% oveer last years, and it makes me feel so bad that the average bonus for an insurance exec is still between 5 and 30 million a year. I just wonder how many people could have been saved at emergency rooms if that money were used to lessen the waiting time, i wonder how many not qualified's that adds up to. millions and millions, just in bonuses , not counting regular salary, think about that ... millions, i think ill stick with mr moore, at least he's on our side”

To all parents out there not allowing your kids to see the president of our country speak to them, just some food for thought... sticking your head in the sand and your a** up in the air doesn't work. My real question to all of you is, What are you so afraid of??”

“Here's a real simple numbers question for all anti-reformists. Remember, there is only 1 right answer, and that answer cannot be followed by waits, and buts, and only's, etc etc. etc.
How many more people will have died today without reform versus how many deaths with reform. I think you'll find each day that goes by without reform equals more unnecessary deaths. Each day, this figure adds up, now easily into the thousands. Thousands of people, dead, who shouldnt be dead...... think about that , now i have one final question for you-How many senior citizens or other people have died an unnecessary death due to a government "death" panel or even due to a consultation with their doctor ? Hmm?? Whats that answer?? Ahh yes i thought i heard you correctly. .ZERO!!! Thats right...ZE RO folks. So tell me based on that score (thousands dead versus zero dead) you are supporting the thousands dead?? Very strange indeed...”

“It is truly a moral issue. I am utterly baffled that we will spend lots of Uncle Sam money to send help when there are those dying due to a natural disaster but aren't willing to dish out government funds for those dying due to a lack of affordability.”

“Another example of all those mighty "important" people at the top making brilliant decisions. If I didn't know any better,I'd say 2 things that are obvious.
1.) It's all about the shareholders , and always will be. They get their a**es kissed so much there needs to be a special polish to sell to them , polish em up and make em look real shiny, hey the next big luxury "must have" item.
2.) Can i go to one of the great schools that spits out this business brilliance at astonishing rates every year. Hey, you've got to trace these things back to their sources ya know.
Sigh, it would be nice if people got brave all at once and got the scissors out. It would be a case where I for one would cheer the job losses resulting from such a move.”

“I say let's be even braver than just cutting them up. As has been suggested by a poster above, let's just everybody default on unsecured debt, or at least threaten to. That should would give the credit card companies and Congress something to think about. And when Congress enacts the inevitable punitive laws in response to our movement, let's vote their butts out of office.
Hey, I can dream can't I?”

“Interesting and valid point you bring up, but as long as some of my tax money is going into idiots pockets like that CEO , you're damn right I want him to be accountable. the accountablilty here is ultimately to all of us who are paying for all of this. It just so happens in a representative democracy, that we elect people to keep watch for us. I've got to sit here and worry about putting food on the table every week, and I'm helping pay this guys salary and bonuses and pension fund etc etc? Actually its too bad the president can't send some henchmen up there and get these suitcases a little dirty then FIRE them.”

“Its a little more complicated than a pass or fail grade. There are so many variables involved and the stimulus package is just one part of the whole process. You are taking one process and oversimplifying it, so you can have some kind of scapegoat, (ie-"see, i told you it would fail"). You seem smarter than that. Do you really think the entire economic recovery rests on the shoulders of one package or process. Oversimplifying is very amateurish, and a lousy way to maintain intelligent discourse.”

“There is a difference between deficits arising from spending, and deficits arising from huge tax cuts. Some of the spending in the current "rescue package" involves things this country should have been working on years ago. Giving big tax cuts to giant corporations and hoping "the market" will naturally cause them to do whats right for the country has turned out to be a big fallacy. We should have been investing in infrastructure and reducing our dependence on oil years ago. It's ashame something like a financial collapse will finally allow some of this critical work to get started. What is it with Republicans? Do they want the United States to become a second rate, insignificant country in todays modern world? If not, theysure don't act it. The 20th century ended 9 years ago, time for them to modernize their thinking, don't you think?”

“"Mr. Obama is set to meet with the mayor, Dick Moore, who has assembled a list of 18 construction projects, from rebuilding runways at the local airport to upgrading sewer systems, that he said could help create 2,300 jobs. In Washington, those are the types of projects deemed recipients of pork-barrel spending"
So upgrading sewer systems is considered pork barrel spending to Republicans. Wow, a lot of pork in 2,300 jobs created. It's so obvious ideology is trumping reality with these people its disgusting. I see Obama trying to fight off this absurdity, but he doesn't have that much help. The only reason I can figure Democrats don't speak up more is because they are only democrats on paper, not in their hearts. True Democrats would be raising hell by now and exposing the Republicans for what they are, corporate suck ups. Hang in there Obama, most of the American people are behind you. Your supposed allies in Congress are useless.”
