“You are right, I don't know what it's like to be in the service, but I do know that being bit.ter is no way to live. And your bitt.erness is very real. And I don't care if you did it for me or not, thank you for your service to our country.”

“Keep telling yourself that, the constant drone of anti- everything military has zero effect on the politicians but does have a lasting effect on the troops. You people don't realize in the slightest what it takes to be in the service. Those of us who did serve are proud to have done so. So go ahead and pretend to be thankful for our service but don't for a second think that we did it for YOU.”

“The instant gratification crowd will never be satisfied. These people need a refresher course in civics just to see how government works again. what is the President to do, work at one single solitary problenm at a time? If there were only that one problem, fine. But life and government isn't like that, despite what cons want to believe.”
slinkymom replied on Sep 28, 2009 at 08:15:59
“It's funny how this book claims Pres. Obama is taking part in the presidential power grab, and yet those that are complaining are mostly stating he isn't doing what he promised. He's letting congress do the job they're supposed to do instead of stepping on their toes. He's letting government work along the lines it is supposed to work, that's hardly a power grab.”

“Good Morning Greatlardini !!
It is amazing isn't it, especially when you stop to think these same people stood by while our government was taken over by a coup, allowed the dictator to do exactly as he wished for 8 years, and now that we have a democratically elected president, they are out in force acting as though he committed the crimes of the former dictator, and should be judged only on how he repents and apologizes for the bad behavior of the last regime that has been laid on him and somehow has miraculously become his doing rather than that of the last administration. These guys defintiely have nerve damage in the brain.”

We are still all over the place miltarily, banks got all the money when they should have been closed. Transparency is still non-existent. My bet is you are changing the 8 months to 2 years, 3 years, etc...
Sorry I supported him strongly but don't define myself by getting married to my previous decisions. When i see what i see I see it and what I see so far is not good.”

“I'm just glad to see more people beginning to understood that Bush was just another nail in America's coffin, and that even eight years of unrestrained greed, corruption, and an antipathy towards the rule of law and the American people couldn't have gotten America into this predicament by itself - the system is just too large.
This mess indeed is the result of 30 years - THREE DECADES - of putting the greed of the individual above the national interest and the well-being of the American people.”

To me Obama is like the captain of the Ti.tantic trying to steer the ship of state in time before it hits the iceberg. It takes time to turn things around.”

We haven't had a Democratic senator since 1932, and our best hope is in Washington at HHS. Brownback will in all likeliehood be our next governor.
