“Thank you for your first hand account. It sounds to me like this dinner accomplished what it was supposed to do, and that is foster understanding, cooperation and good will between India and the United States.

It is so wonderful to not be worried that our President is going to make a fool of himself with world leaders like another President we could name.”

What Color Is The Sky In Palin's World?

Commented Nov 24, 2009 at 18:07:17 in Politics

“She has blind followers who believe everything she says because she is on their level, i.e. "real people" who speak with numerous grammatical errors, in generalities with no substantial thought or consideration, only feeling and fervor instigated by their own unfulfilled lives. They are too lazy to investigate what she says for veracity, and if you watch the interviews of the people standing in line to buy her book they will not come up with any firm reasons why they support her.

It is an interesting phenomenon. I hope that since they are too lazy to look up the truth, they will be too lazy to visit the polls. This happens more often than you realize. When visiting my son in Texas last year, his relatives, all rabid republicans who thought Palin was the greatest thing actually didn't take the trouble to vote. Go figure.”

Palin's Former Ally Calls More Lies to Rogue

Commented Nov 20, 2009 at 00:52:40 in Politics

“I'd be popular too if I gave a couple thousand dollars to every citizen of my state. But say, isn't that redistribution of wealth? Isn't that Communist or Fascist or something?

On the other hand, her great "deal" with big oil is a farce. She quit the energy board just like the governorship because it was involving real work and she has such ADD she couldn't concentrate long enough to put in an 8 hour day.

She was so lame as mayor of a small town she had to hire a city manager, for a town of only 5000 people for gadsakes. My husbands runs a homeowner association for 3000 residents and he doesn't get paid a dime for it. Sarah redecorated her office 3 times and got them to build her house for free. Corruption knows now limits with this broad.”

kareemachan replied on Nov 20, 2009 at 11:37:01

“SHE doesn't give the money - that's been going on since '82 by law. So people up there aren't thinking that their annual checks come from Palin or whoever the governor is.”

The Inevitable Fluke That Is Sarah Palin

Commented Nov 17, 2009 at 17:26:51 in Media

“Lets see now. She was the mayor of a small town for a few years and it was a town of only about 5,000 people, moose included. But the thing is, she couldn't even mayor successfully. She hired a city manager to do the actual work because she was too lazy and too contentious to do it. Even so, she left her little town in a debt of $22K because of her ineptitude and especially for ignoring basic law and building a sports complex on land that did not clearly belong to the city of Wasilla. They are still paying the lawyers for that one.

Then she pulled some strings and got on some energy board. Does she even know the difference between gas and diesel? She quit that when she got bored with it and it took time away from her afternoon game shows.

She got elected governor of a state with less population than Obama's legislative district in Illinois. Other than these things and reading, with a teleprompter no doubt, the sports news on a local station in the eighties, what has she done with her life?

And you dare to say Obama has less experience than she?”

“The morning after Palin made her speech to the Republican Convention, I for the first time in my life, donated my hard earned money to a political campaign. I followed that up with bake sales, fundraisers and call parties. You may have guessed that my energies went into making Obama President, but more important to me at the time was keeping that woman from being a heartbeat away from the presidency.

She affected me in such a primal way. She was bitter and sarcastic, disingenuous and phony. Her folksy speech and winking, along with her parading around her neer do well family and almost relatives spoke volumes about her. I will never forget the look on John McCain's mothers face when she was placed in the same area of seating with the Wasilla hillbillies. Such distaste was evident. The most offensive trait was her disrespect of Obama's career. She, a small town mayor who grifted her little town and weaseled her way onto the energy board, although she probably didn't know the difference between gas and diesel, had somehow hoodwinked her way to the governorship. Obama had sacrificed his financial future and tried to make things better for a poor community, and she mocked him. It offended me deeply.”

“You are correct. But point out to them that they had 6 unfettered years of George Bush and a Republican congress and more abortions were performed than were under President Clinton.

It is my impression that this whole abortion debate is not about killing babies, because they would spend an equal amount of energy caring for and supporting unwanted children if that were true, but it is about the essential control of women and their wombs that is at issue here. It is also about theocracy. They want to blur the lines between church and state and that boils down to "our way of life is better than your religion, or your way of life." It is the ultimate exclusionary tactic. Slogans like "take our country back" translates to keep America white and Christian, and athiests and others are not welcome.”

Katie Couric Should Be Fired!

Commented Nov 14, 2009 at 02:03:33 in Politics

“Actually, before he went to law school, he was able to take a community organization with a $70,000 annual budget and by reaching out to several churches and businesses, made it into a half million dollar budget and that was in the early 80's. With that money, he built a job training center for a community hard hit by factory closures, training unskilled workers for new jobs. And that was when he was in his early 20's. At Harvard, he became the president of Harvard Law Review and that is a very big deal. When he became a state legislator, his district had a population that was almost as much as the entire state of Alaska.

Just because talking heads on Fox say stuff, doesn't mean it is so. Obama was the perfect man for the job, and a Constitutional Law Professor to boot. Light resume, I don't think so.”

Katie Couric Should Be Fired!

Commented Nov 14, 2009 at 01:53:42 in Politics

“Anybody old enough to remember how she made mincemeat of presidential hopeful, Ross Perot, in the early nineties would not underestimate Ms Couric's ability to make an interviewee look stupid, paranoid and incompetent. Mr Perot pulled out of the race shortly after his interview with her because he said somebody threatened to ruin his daughter's wedding if he continued to run.”
