“Well, if he was a terrorist, he certainly was not very good. All those preaching fear have no sense of decency. We have already altered the way we live too much; if we continue to change, they have won. It is time to reject the proponents of hate, anger, and fear and bring our forces home. If the republicans are so excited about fighting, they should be in the Army and in ground combat instead of cowering here and sending others to fight.”

All these folks shakin' in their boots with terror reminds me of what happened last week at the therapist's office:

While the multiple-personality group was struggling to fill out their name tags, the gambling addicts were betting the sexual-compulsives that they couldn't make the over-eaters cry. That part was really funny.
But then the claustrophobics got stuck in the elevator and the therapist had to cancel the fear-of-abandonment workshop. That part was just sad.”

“crowley is as complusive an ideologue as cheney and just as mindless. She is another rightwing zealot who has never done anything of value for her country and sits on the sidelines and throws stones. If anyone had said these things about bush, the R's would have tried to charge him or her with treason. All this by radical thumb suckers who have never stood up and worn the military uniform of their country. If they want to complain, they will have to spend a year's ground combat tour in Afghanistan. If they live through it, we could consider their views. Lacking that they are just loud cowards.”

Commented Dec 21, 2009 at 11:17:36 in Politics

“First, only an evangelical zealot who professes a belief in Jesus but has never acted like him would take such and unprincipled and unchristian position. Second, coburn generally operates without a brain or certainly is not capable of rational thought. And third, all senators and congressmen and women shoul have to retire by the age of 75. After 75 they are no longer capable of keeping up with the work. They can look like it,but they can't do it.”

Adartist777 replied on Dec 21, 2009 at 11:35:42

“People here consider a Byrd a saint. I'm sorry but he's not. While he has looked out for his West Virginia constituents for a number of years as "The King Of Pork", he does have a past.

Byrd was once a member of the Ku Klux Klan and was a confirmed racist. He was also against integration of the armed forces and a Dixiecrat to boot.

He also filibustered the Civil Rights Act in 1964 when it came up for a vote because he was a segregationist.

He's also come out against gay marriage, affirmative action and partial birth abortion even when the mother's life was at risk.

You may respect Byrd for the amount of years that he has spent in Congress, but be aware of his past if you truly want to comment on this "statesman".

Other than that, he's a nice guy, right?”
