Huckabee: Palin Has More Experience Than Obama (VIDEO)

Commented Nov 24, 2009 at 21:17:05 in Politics

“President Obama was Harvard educated - President of the law review. Ms. Palin bounded around to small colleges in WA state. She is a shell with ideological bent. He is an extremely well trained and educated leader. Listen to the two of them. She can not form complex sentences. He is thinking two sentences ahead as he speaks.”

He graduated from Harvard 25 years ago.....let'se see his transcripts and grades?”

“Good questions for Liz Cheney - "have you discussed with your father as to why he often failed to show respect for foreign leaders ? Does it coincide with his distrust for international cooperation and his advocating the tendency to go it alone in international affairs? Do you agree that the distrust shown to the U.S. during the last years of the Bush/Cheney administration was a direct result of that lack of respect and cooperation?"”

Daniel Pearl's Family Disagrees WIth NYC Trial For Khalid Sheikh Mohammed

Commented Nov 15, 2009 at 08:34:45 in World

“I feel very sad for the Pearl family but strongly disagree with their opinion on this subject. Their opinion is, however, very understandable in light of the murder of their son by terrorists.

But the Washington Post, critical of the proposed legal process because it may give the defendant an arena for his big ego ?? Are these folks nuts? What has become of our great newspapers? Are they just unable to understand the great American concept of justice - where such considerations have no weight?

This is how we depart from our values and embrace torture, unprovoked war and illegal wiretapping - It is all necessary because that other guy may ... (fill in the blank). The Washington Post .....Sad, just sad.”

“Blitzer is again showing his stupid streak. It is painful to watch him wander through his illogical or disjointed interviews. This interview was just plain stupid, without any indication that Blitzer has any appreciation for the American criminal justice system or the Constitution. What a disservice to his audience.”

Anonymous Democratic Strategist Claims White House Discouraged Fox News Appearances

Commented Nov 08, 2009 at 21:53:14 in Media

“Another attack upon the Democrats by an anonymous source that gives the wise ole LA Times the ability to continue the speculation by then stating that "some observers say ...." Just who are these observers? Name at least one.
Note, it is not even clear from the story that the author spoke directly with this anonymous source. Was this second or third hand information? Was it filtered through Fox News?
This is an example of gutter journalism. The Times should know better.”

“George Bush put that fool Brown in charge of FEMA. He had no experience or knowledge in that filed. His previous work had been promoting show horses. Bush proved that they had no desire to see government programs work for the people. The Bush republicans always claim that government programs can not be expected to meet the needs of people.... and they proved it during Katrina. Bush has failed at every major undertaking other than campaigning with his family name for elected office.”

McCain Economist: GOP Will Lose Without Alternative Health Care Bill

Commented Nov 03, 2009 at 03:00:06 in Politics

“good points Joe. Recall that during the 2000 campaign Bush had a "me too" health care plan that he promoted during his "compassionate conservative" campaign. He was like the rest of the Republicans, "promoting a me too concept" said to be related to health care reform all the while more interested in protecting the status quo. How did that Bush health care legislation work out?
Oh yeah. We got two wars instead.”

“Thanks for reminding me of why I canceled my subscription.

Grayson can not be compared to the wingnuts on the right, Bachmann et al.
He has not uttered falsehoods like "death panels" and has not called for Congressional investigation into un-American activities of fellow Congress members.

He is a bared fisted street fighter who tells it like it is. People will die and the Republicans are protecting the insurance industry. Many lobbyists are whores.

The old gray lady is sadly looking for a false "balance". Odd that they would include comments from Carville, who is not nearly as clever as Grayson and more bombastic.”
Why Journalists Shouldn't Be Defending Fox News

Why Journalists Shouldn't Be Defending Fox News

Commented Oct 25, 2009 at 09:21:04 in Politics

“A fair newspaper, an international newspaper - The Christian Science Monitor - check it out.
Very comprehensive coverage with many foreign correspondents. No slant.
Most large city newspapers are relatively balanced. Even the New York Times gave the past administration a lot of ink to advocate their point of view. Read the op-ed pages of these papers that you attack and you will find many conservative writers.
Now, Fox News is a different animal. You will find them promoting views and actions - evidence the tea bag parties that they "sponsored" across the country. Fox personalities were advertised and appeared at these events in major markets. One Fox producer was even caught on film pleading with the crowd to be more noisy ! Not journalism.”

Lamar Alexander Compares Obama To Nixon: "Don't Create An Enemies List"

Commented Oct 22, 2009 at 09:16:12 in Politics

“The distinction must be in what, if anything, they do with the list. It is important to know one's enemies. It is more important to make distinction as to how different politicians use those lists. It is a matter of historic record that Nixon used his list to target those that he didn't like for illegal acts or retaliation.

To compare Nixon to Obama is just plain funny.

Lamar Alexander should be laughed off the political stage.”

GOP Base Driven By Bizarre Ideology, Not Racism, Report Finds

“Excellent conclusion. To conclude that because one can not find overt racism in public discussion of President Obama that that proves that racism does not exist is just stupid. Racism does exist in the U.S. today. To suggest otherwise is to give the racists unnecessary cover. It also gives cover to those moderates in the republican party that see the racism, know it exits within their base and refuse to denounce it.”

Sarah Palin's Ratings Plummet To An All Time Low In Poll

Commented Oct 16, 2009 at 21:47:21 in Politics

“I believe that we have established the bottom of the die hard republican support at about 28% -- evidenced by the number of supporters of GWB after he was totally discredited after the demise of the American economy and failure of American foreign policy.

Thus, Palin will have the 28% of the American public that are the die hard republicans plus about 12 % of the populace that are independent female voters that will still support an assertive female "leader". Unless she reinvents herself, she will never be able to beat a strong opponent.

In the pool of republican primary voters she may be the strongest candidate.”

White House's Fox News War Sparks Criticism, Surprising Backlash

Commented Oct 13, 2009 at 01:51:03 in Media

“Any objective reviewer of Fox News would conclude that Fox is a wing of the republican party. Just consider the promotion of the tea bag parties, the exaggeration of the crowd numbers (and my favorite) the Fox news producer caught on tape prompting the crowd to be louder for the camera !
Hype not news.

And these talking heads know the truth but decide to ignore it. They spent time addressing the question of should President Obama appear on Fox and not the real question - Is Fox a wing of the republican party? Why? They are cowards. They know the truth but are worried about their popularity. Each is playing to an audience. Harold Ford is the worst. Mika, Geren - they all know that the Emperor has no clothes, but know that if they voice the obvious Fox and their goons will attack them. Recall how reporters that stated the obvious about Sarah Palin (Katie C.) were attacked.

BTW, did you notice how Fox addressed the "news" story tonight. They ran the pro Fox statements from Gergen and others, along with statements from Ayers and other Fox executives. No time given to any rebuttal. Just another chance to bash President Obama.

Typical Fox news story on Obama, "some believe" or "some are saying" --no attribution to set up the attack. Morning news show is set up with talking points from republicans.”
