joeydetroit replied on Nov 02, 2009 at 13:50:45

“What's sad is how damaged the Times' reputation has become over the years. One has to go with their gut about whether to believe their journos or not. Plagiarism, not checking facts, regurgitating PR talking points and outright fabrication--they really need to do some soul searching if they want to survive economically let alone in a journalistic sense. Cons already hate 'em, progressives can't trust 'em. Not sure who they have on their side.”

skeck replied on Nov 02, 2009 at 13:44:13

“you obamabots are as bad as fox news, you hear, see, speak no evil of your precious obama”

LiberalLee replied on Oct 25, 2009 at 18:13:12

“Since the point of this thread is whether or not Fox is justified in claiming that what they broadcast is 'news' or 'opinion', your comment is just another " I don't like your side" pout.
Either voice an opinion on this subject or hush up and try to remember that, " Cause Fox said so. " isn't an argument FOR your side, but rather a validation of the White House's complaint: That Fox is NOT reporting news, it is disseminating the opinions of an opposing agenda. The WH doesn't care what Fox says, they merely wish ( like so many of us) that they would stop presenting viewpoints as facts, when they neither bother to research nor verify their statements.”

noamjunior replied on Oct 25, 2009 at 18:12:12

MJHammonds replied on Oct 25, 2009 at 18:07:36

“i for one am extremely disappointed in obamas presidency so far and i think most progressives are too”

Lahonda replied on Oct 25, 2009 at 17:06:39

“Careful while you steady that Ark... most presidencies would probably have their cabinets fleshed by this time. Even Roosevelt held back unwisely from "too much preparation" against the outgoing Hoover presidency.

Please read Jonathan Alter's "PDQ President" article on the Newsweek site. It provides excellent insight on why we're actually able to claim such incredible success in the first year of his presidency.

Let me tell you another story.
Back when President Obama was still Candidate Obama he looked at the economic meltdown and decided he had to prioritize his agendae.
He e-mailed his millions of supporters and asked them to help him prioritize by ranking his agendae items into categories and then to rank those categories as to what was most important to them. I know this because I got one of those letters and voted my concerns.

I believe the results were 1)healthcare 2)economy 3)environment.

That's pretty much what he has been working on this first 10 months.”
