Is Your Digestive System Making You Sick?

Commented Oct 11, 2009 at 17:07:21 in Living

“I think I have poor digestive health. 90% of the time my stomach feels bloated uncomfortable. I dont eat properly in a timely manner. I frequently skip meals however I eat high fibre cereal lots of oats lentil's beans nothing seem to work. I suspect it might because of milk. I just dont have a good feeling in my stomach 12 hours after I drink milk but I dont see how I can cut milk from my diet. I need calcium and its the best source for it.”

TakeSake replied on Oct 12, 2009 at 01:05:06

“Here are a couple recipes that can give you a good start:

Breakfast cereal replacement
- Add rice from the rice cooker to a cereal bowl
- Slice in a banana or other things to taste. I would avoid apples.
- Toss in walnuts or other nuts of your choice
- Add raisins or other dried fruit
- Raw pumpkin seeds are also very nice
- Top with hemp milk or some juice mix - cut with water to taste

Eggs with rice
- Heat up an 8 inch pan. Add olive oil
- Add some cooked rice. Make it around 1/2 inch thick
- Fry until lightly toasted - no darker than fresh wood
- Flip over, lightly toast again, and put on a plate
- Crack one or two eggs in the pan
- Once they're starting to firm up add kim-chee to taste
- Add some raisins as well
- Place on top of toasted rice and enjoy

Unlearn your liking for sugar and sweet and learn to love spicy things like kim-chee. Vinegar is also something that is very useful once you get it to work. Add to rice, but you need to let it soak in for a while - then it gets very mellow.”

“I had similar symptoms. It took me a few months to work it out a few years ago. Here is what I do now:

1) Cut out all wheat and dairy.
2) Replace all wheat with rice.
3) Replace milk with hemp milk or juice of some kind.
4) Buy a rice cooker. Get a good Japanese or Korean one with a timer.
5) Buy rice in 50 lb. bags. It should be around $40.

You'll be amazed at how much junk gets off your list because of avoiding those things. However, you're probably asking the question of how you'll make it through the day without those - because, let's face it, the American diet is basically something wheat and something dairy 3 times per day.”

If it wasnt for the fact that the most powerful nation in the world had embraced a foreign policy that made the world a dangerous place with a President that committed war crimes by torturing and people wanting to reject those policy President Obama wouldnt have been elected and wouldnt have been in a position to change those policies. THe most powerful nation in the world decides to forge a differnt path after embracing policies like the Bush Doctrine and some dont think thats enough to win the Nobel Peace Prize. “Yes the left too cr a p ped all over him. This is why I'm dillusioned about politics in general its not just because of politics.

But what needed to have been done is to take a look at past winners take a look at the position President Obama is in cause lets be honest here he could NEVER have win for changing some of Bush's destructive policies if he was NOT IN THE POSITION TO DO SO.

So when people whine its not fair to chose him to me they are saying its NOT FAIR that he was elected President cause that is WHAT maed it possible for him to win. He had the power to change our foreign policy from the dangerous path that it was on and he has made some significant changes and what is sad to me is that some of you dont think its enough. You said Clinton didnt win it. Well here's the reality the world CHANGED significantly after 911 and America changed with it many of those changes NOT for the better. He is trying to forge a different path living in a post 911 era and you are going to say how come Bill Clinton didnt win one really?”

“The reality is economies have never been purely capitalist or purely socialist its been a combination of both. THe markets these last twenty years or so have enjoyed relatively little regulation and when that happens it is true that market grows that wealth is created but that wealth is a false wealth its a bubble wealth that is eventually going to burst. In order to put economies on firmer foundation you NEED regulations bubble growth is NOT firmer foundation.

Part of the reason the market is doing better is that things were so bad that any little slight shift in positive direction boost confidence in the market. I dont consider this growth solid or on solid foundation as yet because regulations need to be in place and unemployment needs to shrink.

Thats one of the reasons why capitalism has lasted so long. Its that when we suffer severe bust the eocnomy is put on firmer foundation this is what happened after the great depression. So for all this whining about socialism capitalism CANNOT survive without it. ANd ditto for socialism which is why many socialist government end up being repressive because if they could survive with socialism there wouldnt be any need to repress people's freedom.

It will take a thousand years or more for us to realize that both economic systems are symbiotic. Unfortunately politics corrupt EVERYTHING.”

Head in the Sand?

Commented Sep 18, 2009 at 20:37:13 in Politics

“I read an exercept of Pres Obama interview for MTP and he does have a point when he says this isnt about race. He made the point that the media focuses on the extreme and of course they are people who are to not support him because he is AA we dont live in a perfect world so its gonna happen the point is that the media focuses on these extreme and not the underlying reason they are objecting. If Healthcare wasnt something that folks were passionate about in their opposition it would have gotten done years ago. They've been trying to do this for over 40 years and its still not done. The fact that he is AA give a debate a racial overtone but to say that they are objecting because of the President's race is an oversimplfication.

Its not about whether raci sm exist it does exist but we need to stop making it seem bigger than it is. It is not fair to say that they are objecting because the President is AA.”

“Have you not seen some of the protesters' signs at the tea party and anti-health reform rallies? The McCain-Palin rallies with the racially charged name-callings and death threats? The increase in hate groups?

No one has to make racism bigger than what it is. It has always been bigger than what it is. You have someone running the country who happens to be a person of color, a minority in charge. After 220 years of and 43 white presidents, it's safe to say that they have been jolted out of their comfort zones. All of their fears (conscious and unconscious prejudices) have surfaced.”

Some of these people so called Christians preaching hate calling for the President to be killed and then say they are man of God.

This is why bad things happen througout history people are unable ot control their baser instincts and if we want to move into the 21st century and progress we must control those basic instincts. He said he was going to work with rethugs he is doing that he is doing eveyrthing he said he was going to do as far as healthcare he still supports a public option. He is not trying to kill granny the crisis of confidence comes in the fact that for whatever reasons Americans are not very bright they think that he is trying to kill their grandmother or he wants to ruin the country or tax them when they make less than 250,000 dollars. It seems to me a crisis of confidence would mean going back on your word and he hasnt done that he just has to spend his time waste his time trying to clear up nonsense that even a three year old wouldnt buy but for some reason the AMerican people is dense stu pid and frankly afraid and end up buying.
