“It used to be because people were afraid they'd have the "good life" taken from them. Now what?”

“It's been working for 30 years and more, why stop now? Good question. Why do they feel they have such power. Why are we so afraid of these bastards.”

“The MSM helped them a lot. Now with the internet and sites like Huff. Po people can see for themselves what's happening. There are so many sites on the net you can read any point of view.
Knowledge defeats fear.”

“I don't believe we are frightened of these fools anymore. I believe we proved that in November and we will continue to prove that in the 2010 elections. So.... party of NO keep on trying to put the fear of god into the American voter it doesn't work anymore. We see the man behind the curtain and we have called you ALL out.”

“Elizabeth. You are smart & funny. A wild woman who has the courage & honesty to just shoot from the hip girl, it is what it is. My 17 year old daughter and I watched 'Zack & Miri" together and instead of either one of us being embarrassed, we were able to sit and watch it with each other (okay I admit it, there were a few times when the hand shot up over her eyes and I was relieved to see hers was already there) because on the whole it was the L:OVE STORY that shined above all the other sub plots plus the cast of characters were great and provided a lot of comic relief. Well done.

Zack Effron's cute. My generation loved hair also.”

“I guess I find it hard to read someone being "conservative" about the movie after having made Zack and Miri make a porno. I realize it didn't get a PG13 rating, but come on. If the intent of every movie was to provide a "good message" to young adults -- there wouldn't be very many made. I don't think any young adult ever thinks about how hard it would be to be a parent and sadly -- I don't know that they would listen if that were the message anyway. I'm not condoning in reality the situation, but it is just a movie as was Zack and Miri and I doubt anyone would condone making a porn movie because they can't pay their bills. But you can't get pregnant if you're not having sex and very, very few people at that age aren't having sex, especially in this day and time. There are also very few role models for people that age in this day and time as well. (i.e., Lindsey Lohan, Brittany Spears, etc.)”

“Yeah, yeah. Women are bitches, men are profound. Being thoughtful and challenging does NOT equal "angry" , speaking up for what you believe, thinking something is critically wrong and needs more examination before the debate is closed is not "angry", it's asking for respect for all sides. "Bitch" & "angry" are used as swords against women by those who just don't want to hear their voice.. Anne Coulter and Laura Ingram are angry (and at times downright vile) bitches but they're not referred to as the big "ANGRY", that would be anti-feminine right wing and condemn one of their own. When you close the debate by using these tactics you are condeming the other side and yourself to endless, infinite failures as one side wins and the other immediately begins brually attacking them.”
