Michelle Obama Pictures UPDATE: Offensive Image REMOVED, Google 'SORRY' (PHOTO)
Commented Nov 25, 2009 at 18:34:29 in Technology
“Google is a censor. They have been given an extraordinary amount of power and they are not up to the task. They have the power (whim) over things that should allowed by any stretch of the imagination, Constitution or otherwise, they (Google) have become fascist , arbitrary demigods who built an empire on other people's sweat equity, you and I who were duped into contributing their time and energy as editors for "open source" search which Google quickly claimed as theirs. They are also thieves who take money for Adwords and THEN decide it's not up to their "standards" after they cash your check. Who gave them the right to decide in a free market system who makes it up the search levels and who doesn't ???? It used to be determined by hits and links. Now THEY decide, they have the power to act as judge, jury and executioner. What assurance do I have that they (Google or one of their minions) aren't being paid to crush me? and I don't mean per hit. What rights do I have to a level playing field when they control the field?? They don't operate as capitalists, they operate as dictators. As far as the disgusting Michelle Obama image, there's always going to be bad taste and fools. As we used to say, turn the dial..... the more attention you pay to bullies, the better they like it.”

“Their current position as a censor was goaded on all along by the kind of rabid and unbalanced fools who are out in full force tonight. People WANT Google to censor what is available.”

They are ripping us off at every turn and like the vile thieves they are, blaming us for their unconscionable acts.”

“There certainly is Federal Insurance. The National Flood Insurance Program, back by FEMA is a direct result of Insurance companies either raising rate to unaffordable heights or dropping out of flood insurance coverage all together. The Federal Government stepped in and created the program.”

“I heard a story about a patient walking into this woman's office. Orly Taitz was wearing what looked like sterile rubber gloves and the patient thought, well, that's great, she cares about hygiene and her patients health until Ms. Taitz calmly walked over to the sink and proceeded to wash her hands WITH THE GLOVES STILL ON ! I guess they don't teach you the part about actually washing your hands and putting on fresh gloves at the online college of dentistry.”

I bought a half Arabian buckskin mare from her named "Shalazar" when we were very young and had the opportunity to spend time with her and her mother and they were two of the finest people I've ever met and so proud of Sharon. She would never suggest something that wasn't appropriate regarding her beautiful sister or her husband.”

Dean On Conrad's Co-op Plan: Insurance Industry Licking Its Lips
Commented Jun 15, 2009 at 13:52:00 in Politics
“I have lived in Vermont for the past ten years raising my daughter as a single parent. I have not one doubt that it would have been a much different and more difficult thing to do (raise a good citizen) in almost anywhere else in the United States. Dr. (Governor) Dean will always be a hero here for his Dr. Dynasaur program covering all children under the age of 18 as long as they're in school and providing health care for everyone in Vermont with one program or another. He is knowledgeable and courageous, his programs are cost effective and no non-sense pragmatic and hold true to his principles as a Physician and Governor, staying true to his pledge to honor the Public Trust for every single person in the State, not just the chosen few no matter who whined or shouted about it. He leveled the playing field in a very rural State (only Montana has less folks) where the whim of the weather can affect an entire valley's economy . God Bless Howard Dean, MD and former Governor of the State of Vermont.. The man knows what's he's talking about.”

“I love, lover, love Dr. Dean. Damn right he should have been head of HHS. That's one I am really upset with Obama about. In fact he should have been president. I'd still vote for him in a heartbeat.
I think what happened was that the establishment (corporations) knew that he was incorruptible and focused on the public rather than corporate America and that they could never hold sway with him. So the easiest thing to do was to cut him off at the knees at an early stage in his national career.”

“Bush and Clinton wore shorts quite often and were pictured in them around town all the time. Yet the only time either of them were called out about it was once when Clinton's legs were so pale they looked like they would glow in the dark.
This is a non-story, and just another reason to rag Pres. Obama. In fact, he wears shorts or trunks nearly the whole time he's in Hawaii. It's what he's used to, and I don't think he cares what anybody thinks. It has nothing to do with dignity, it has to do with comfort.
You probably weren't around when everybody was rolling on the floor laughing when Pres. Nixon was pictured walking on the beach in a suit and tie. And, you know how far all that "Dignity" carried him.”

Banks Still Pulling Sway On Major Credit Card Bill
Commented Apr 22, 2009 at 17:04:06 in Politics
“Usery is rampant. I bought a $40. bathing suit for my young daughter at a new Fashion Bug here in our small town in Vermont using a card the clerk told me would bring discounts and other perks if I signed up for it. This was my first purchase on it. The bathing suit immediately started fraying, rubber threads everywhere popping out and pulling apart after two days. I took it back to the store. Because it was a bathing suit they refused to allow me to return it even though it wasn't usable, they wouldn't give me store credit, nothing. I insisted on speaking to a manager who said she would "see what she could do". I left the store thinking there would be some sort of resolution. My first statement had an 18% charge. I went back to the store, paid off the principal but not the additional charge. The statements kept coming. There was never any resolution on the bathing suit even though I'd left it at the store with the manager. The Fashion Bug closed a few short months later but the statements kept coming until the owner company, Spirit of America (THAT'S a laugh) has reported me as owing them $198 over and above the principle of $40. for a faulty item. Whatever happened to caring about the customer. This is egregious, They've completely taken me. The banks and their counterparts are co-conspiritors. Bring back the Usery laws.”

“Every customer /shopper/consumer in America has a similar tale. American business cares only about the bottom line and you aren't on it. The store probably bankrupted on their creditors and suppliers and the owners who were pilfering the tills on a daily basis walked away with hundreds of thousands of dollars in wealth. The retail clothing business is famous for this kind of graft and corruption and they have been doing it for decades. This kind of fraud is to retail clothing sales what fires are to furniture stories. The only thing you can do in these circumstances to save your credit and stop the charges is to take them to small claims court and show the judge the swimming suit and tell your story. These judges are usually fair and can see through the business BS and surprisingly many people win their cases. I have personally taken four cases to small claims court and am about $2,000 dollars to the good so far because I have prevailed in each instance. Since I'm not a genius or even very bright, I think most people can do at least as well as I have done.”

Our government was based on freedom of religion (that is, if you want to be part of one), but that doesn't give any one faith the right to tell anyone else to do. There are many, many religions and many agnostics and atheists in this country. No one should be dictated to on the basis of religion or religious culture. I keep hearing friends say this country was founded on Christianity, and while it's my religion, that was not the case. This country was based on freedom to practice one's religion, not only Christianity.”

“We just schooled an entire generation in warfare and exposed them on a daily basis to the atrocities that become part of your job, whether it's breaking into a home, killing to defend your comrades in arms against the enemy or patrolling streets under enemy fire from a thousand potential places. Each of these young men and women should be debriefed and assessed for trauma and stress disorders. They need immediate counseling after being in a totally foreign environment under such intense conditions and help in any and every way to reassimilate back into their families and communities. Blackwater employees (no matter what you think of Mr. Prince and their machinations) should be required to go through a debriefing as well. Talk about bringing your job home with you.
Ms. Napolitano's job is to track any and all threats. You go girl!
Some would take advantage of crisis to further their own agendas. Phony mortgage and debt counselors who prey on those who are in crisis and afraid and hate groups who prey on those who have lost themselves to fear and need an anchor, all will proliferate in a lawless environment.”
