There was no attempt at health care reform under the last administration. Why? Well, this one is very difficult (as anyone with eyes and ears today can see). It is even more difficult when one political party (The GOP) refuses to come to the table in good faith at all.”

“You are incorrect. There are rules about what the policies must cover (one of the things most GOP'ers absolutely hate). If you cannot afford it, you will get a subsidy so that you can. If you still cannot afford it, there is no penalty. If you can afford it and chose not to buy it there is a penalty (on your tax form) of $750. This penalty aggravates the heck out of insurance companies because they say it is way too low-- and most folks won't buy until they are sick.”

Why do you think the Party of NO has been doing everything in their power including lies, distortion and any other underhanded method to destroy ACORN? ACORN registers voters and too bad for the GOP but most of them vote Democratic not big money or corporations.”

“Completely agree with your perspective, but not your conclusion. A vital ingredient in the struggle for any truer democracy is continuing to vote each and every time. We are fairly certain that a landslide still can't be stolen, so vote out the constituents who don't play ball. Keep using this interweb thingy to blacklist Republicans who approve of rape, Democrats who approve of Wall Street, and other corruptions. Don't let cynicism be your excuse for not participating in the effort to make it better.”

“Nope. This is a bill that does all of the following:
1) requires health care companies to SPEND more than they do today of each premium dollar on health care.
2) that prohibits insurance companies from up-charging or refusing coverage for pre-existing conditions
3) provides subsidies to many Americans so that they can afford insurance
4) sets up an insurance exchange where folks can chose which policy to buy
5) gives tax cuts to small businesses (like corporations enjoy today) to deduct the cost of providing employee health care
6) (and if Senator Reid gets his way) will also allow folks to pick from the insurance plans currently offered to federal employees (including U.S. Senators)”
