Your comments about science being base on faith indicate you no understanding of how science works, and what constitutes evidence.

Would the cave art, tools, burial mounds, and other artifacts of Cro Magnon or Neanderthal man not consitute recorded history that pre dates the Bible?

The Bible is an asurdly stupid book that comprehends virtually nothing about the world that existed at the times it was written. The authors knew nothing about the Asian, African or American civilizations that preceeded them, let alone co-existed with them. Some revelation. They didn't even understand that the moon rotated around the earth and the earth rotated around the sun. Something that the Sumerians had figured out 4000 years earlier.

Its hard to give Biblical drivel credit for what it does claim knowledge to (lets see, should I stone a witch to death today, commit genocide on my enemies and rape their women, or offer up my daughter to be raped to honor my guest? Hard decisions, all), but it is rediculous to give it credit for being an inspired supernatural work given what little it does know about the planet, let alone the universe.”

But the bottom line is, of course the shroud is a fake. Other research has shown the shroud material to date to the 14th century. But the non-rational keep insisting that some magic was performed to create the image with mysterious powers, so real scientists keep wasting their time debunking these claims.”

The banks will be back at the handout trough looking for protection from the massive wave of defaults on commercial property loans caused by lease defaults and deteriorated balance sheets of mortgage holders of commerical properties that have to refinance their buildings.

Architectural firms are laying off and not hiring, unless they are infrastructure specialists (roads, dams, etc) that are benefitting from stimulus. When projects are not being designed, building activity does not follow. 2010 looks to be very bad in the construction business.

The fundamental problem is that the US economy cannot be fixed with accounting games and tax policy. We are missing an economic engine. The stimulus plans are not comprehesive enough to change the course, they are only a slight drag on the speed of the descent.”

“Job growth was excellent in China and India. Is there a causal relationship there?”

“Come to Indianapolis and take a look and multitude of Taj Majal hospitals with marvelous architecture and expensive finishes, filled with expensive equipment and first class furnishings and decorations. Take a look at the advertising budgets that these hospitals have to win over patients to come to their hospital, a necessary expense because there is more high end hospital capacity than there are patients to pay for all of the capital equipment, $500K salaries, and real estate.

And then let's have a discussion as to whether health costs can be controlled or not.”
