“I had this very delicious burger at Beaver Street Brewery in Flagstaff. I couldn't remember everything that was in it, but I remembered that garlic and sun-dried tomatoes were mixed into the ground beef. I had made some tomatoes and frozen them a while ago, so I had those handy, and I made these burgers at home. They were so simple and really GREAT!
But I will still stop by the Brewery next time I'm in Flag to have the real thing again.”
“Maybe it proves her point, but I'm not sure about that. If you are saying you never make fun of, curse out, or mock anyone else behind their back for any reason, then you must be a saint among men, and I salute you.
What I do know is that I disagree with you on your definition of true character. If you do believe in a god, it makes sense that you believe your private thoughts are being monitored. Several of the 10 commandments are even thought crimes.
I don't believe that it's any of anyone's business what I do or think in private. If my private conversations come out in the open, it's on me to apologize or not. I have no god to ask forgiveness, there are only other people and myself.”

“Thank you. Your response is on the level.
I'm no saint, but having spent part of my childhood as one of the picked upon, I truly try not to make fun. That is one direction I try not to take, though I fail from time to time.
To be forgive one needs to forgiven. By God, by whom you offended, by yourself. All 3 is like a bonus. The order isn't as important as the sincerity.
no god to ask forgiveness. Sounds lonesome to me. But, beyond that I would never judge you. Nor try and convert you.”
“I'd venture to say you know a lot more atheists than you think you do, they just prefer not to talk about religion, especially around believers.
I'm sorry you found yourself in some kind of freak pocket of mean outspoken atheists. Most of the atheists I know would never dream of mocking anyone openly... unless it's like the Westboro Baptists or someone we can all agree deserve the ridicule.”

Guess that proves her point. True character is measured by what you do in private, not what you do openly.”
“I am not sure I understand what the problem is. Politicians lie ALL THE TIME to get your vote.
What in the world makes you think someone who pretends to be religious will in fact be any better as president than someone who has the ovaries/cajones to admit to holding an unpopular minority worldview?”
“Not really a good example. According to your own unattributed quote, that was a case of "failed" inspections. The person I was responding to was not talking about enforcing current law, but making new laws.”
“Regulated better? Do you have data on what sorts of problems women have when they go, and what the potential solutions would be to those problems?
Also, who "frequents" abortion clinics besides the people who work there?”

“Here you go. Doctor Kermitt Gosnell was allowed to work without any oversight - he has since been convicted of murder for routinely performing late term abortions past the 24 week guideline. "Pennsylvania authorities had failed to conduct routine inspections of all of its abortion clinics for 15 years by the time Gosnell's facility was raided and closed down. In the scandal's aftermath, two top state health department officials were fired, and Pennsylvania imposed tougher rules for clinics."”

“The many" women" who use abortion as birth control. I have known quite a few personally.”
“First of all, brava, Rep Bachmann. Your fear that a women's history museum is going to be a shrine to abortion betrays your attitude that a woman is nothing more than what's going on in her lady parts.
Second, not everything that's in a museum is necessarily "celebrated." Museums are established as *educational institutions*. Sometimes we learn about things we don't agree with or like.
Third, what is wrong with "an overwhelming bias towards women?" I don't understand this complaint.
Lastly, have some respect for your feminist forebears - the ones who made your position and national voice and campaign for president(!) possible.”
“My friends and I also have all gone our separate ways, husbands, children, etc. But, we get together every 3 years for a long weekend and during that time it's like nothing has changed. (We graduated from college 18 years ago.)”
