I fought in Vietnam. My family, like so many, date back to WWI, WWII, Korea, VietNam, with my nephew coming back from Iraq in '06.

When I got to VietNam, the first thing after stepping off the big C-130 was to pick up our jungle gear, which included a rifle. There were hundreds of us coming and going. And, unlike the administration official who came on TV yesterday and said, '...it was too confusing and everything was rushed, "We couldn't keep track of anything"' we still knew where our weapons were - in fact it was a court martial, with heavy loss of rank and brig time if anyone lost a weapon.

It was no less confusing in VietNam - the supply gunny still had his troops out there with clip boards checking off our names as we went through. It takes no time at all. And, NO that's not a national secret to hand out equipment.!!”
