“Duh.
The show is set at the Jersey Shore, and the cast consists of Italian American "Guidos and Guidettes" from all over the northeast. The people represents some people who visit the shore during the season. But you can go anywhere in NJ NY PA CT RI MA (or elsewhere) and find "these people." When they grow up, they become the Real Housewives of New Jersey.
People all over the world don't think all Americans act like this. Just those looking for their cheap 15 minutes of fame on the boob tube.
The show is only offensive it you tuned in looking for intellectual stimulation. Instead you get "The Situation!"

“Same here. But I would say it's the "progressives" not the liberals in the Democratic party who want this. "Liberals" I know (and I count myself among them) are less ideologically driven and more realistic or pragmatic.
