CBS News Pick Claimed Democrats are Bad People
Commented Feb 23, 2009 at 13:15:37 in Media
“This guy needs to step down or be fired. If he were going for Rush Limbaugh's job that would be one thing, but a right-wing nut a VP for CBS News? It's outrageous!”

Sarah Palin: The New and 'Explosive' Leader of the GOP
Commented Dec 04, 2008 at 11:02:54 in Politics
“Sister Sarah might be a reference to the character of the same name in "Guys and Dolls." I started calling Palin that as soon as McCain chose her, and that was my reason fr doing so.”
Final Predictions

“nodoginthishunt mistakes wishful thinking for incisive analysis. Obama's leading in the polls by ELEVEN points! The only way he can lose this thing is if his supporters get complacent (which won't happen) or if the Republican'ts steal the election again (which definitely could happen),”
McCarthyism Redux: The McCain Campaign's Calumny Express
Commented Oct 27, 2008 at 11:36:26 in Politics
“John McCain has trashed every principle he ever stood for in the service of winning the presidency. How galled he must be that what worked for George Bush against him in 2000 is not working this time. If McCain had run this year as he ran in 2000, this race would be much closer. It's the ultimate sad irony for Mr. McCain.”

“You are right. He played to the base (pun intended) part of the Republican Party... those with the basest instincts to tear down their opponents with all the hatred they could muster. Ironic he thinks of himself as one who fights that as a maverick.”
Why After 75 Years, Esquire Endorsed a Presidential Candidate

“When Barack Obama takes the oath of office on January 20, he will likely face the worst economy in America and the world since FDR took office in 1933. His presidency will either be undone by this because of inaction or bad policy, or he will be remembered, as FDR is, as the man who brought America out of a very black period. I fully expect the latter. The day after his election, Obama should read every book he can on FDR and the New Deal, because a lot of what FDR did may well work today.”

“The Economy will help get Barack elected president and the economic recovery will assure the people of America and their selection of him for president. The USA will and has always bounced back from hard times. With proper guidance and regulations, we will eventually be economically stronger. Come election time in 2012, Obamie will be considered BATMAN.”

“FDR did not get us out of the depression, WWII did. Everything he tried to do to end the depression failed. Only a world war ended the depression. I really hope that is not the solution this time around.”

“I can't wait to see Tina Fey's take on the debate. She'll nail Palin for all her aw shucks corniness, her obfuscations, her failure to answer any quesrion directly, and her overall behavior that was more like a kindergarten teacher than a vicxe-presidential candidate. She would be even more of an embarrassment for this country than W--and that's saying a lot. (God save us from four more years of someone in high office saying "nucular" and "eye-raq." )”

“i come from poor Irish immigrants. my mother taught me that you need to know how to act. you need to know how to pronounce words so you don't come off as a moron. ignorance is not an option. why do people like palin and bush and a million others revel in this kind of thing? it is mind-boggleing. to this day and i am 53, i hate it when i mispronounce words. i encorage those around me to call me on it. i just don't get it. since when is mediocrity accepted? and encouraged?”

“McCain's campaign becomes more of a joke every day. He changes his positions from day to day, tries to blame Obama for everything, can't say three words without looking at his cue cards. It's the campaign of a man who has no ideas, no vision. and no real convictions. Obama has all three. And that's why this election will not be as close as it looks now. Obama will win by at least five points, which considering our relectoral ecent history is a landslide.”

The Delicate Subject of John McCain's Marbles
Commented Sep 18, 2008 at 10:32:02 in Politics
“The bloviators on Morning Joe today were bemoaning the supposed fact that the so-called 'Mainstream Media' is in the pocket of Barack Obama and goes much easier on him than McCain. What bull! McCain has gotten away with murder in the MSM, which laughs off his frightening lapses in knowledge. his flip-flopping to make John Kerry ashamed, his cynical and reckless selection of Palin, and his pathetic attempts top run against the John McCain he was in 2000. You have to work really hard to find examples of all this anywhere but on Huffington Post. Thank God for Arianna!”

“THe BLVIATORS in MSM kept trying to push the GOP talking point regarding the "elite" fund raiser in H-O-L-L-Y-W-O-O-D" that O had the audacity to attend to pick up 9 million while WallStreet was "crashing" ...course never had such umbrage to take at McCains week-end fundraiser in Floriday where he collected a measly $5million--but that goes to GOP HQ as he is on poublic funding at this point and not able to take those funds DIRECTLY into own campaign coffer (and uh, how many remember McC tried to ESCAPE tie to PUBLIC FINANCE but got snarled in legalities as he had used such PUBLIC FUNDS as collateral loan and etc before he was FOR but then against PUBLIC FINANCED CAMPAIGN.. bet not many cuz the MSM fails to even bother NOTING such ) THe blathering on Morning Joe is too full of drivel, but then, others in the ";liberal" MSM are too as all keep neck and neck in putting out the GOP talking points while trivializing anything regarding Obama and Biden as if THEY are the ones who are disengenuous !!!”

“The half-baked Alaskan will only ensure McCain's defeat, which was pretty easy to predict even before she was selected. She undercuts everything he's campaigned on--the vaiue of experience, putting country first. McCain put his candidacy first, and America--and the war on terrorism--be damned. This is one of the most perilous times in our history, and McCain wants this utterly inexperienced former beauty queen to be a heartbeat away? If it weren't so disturbing, it would be hilarious.”

DVDs: Leave Star Trek Alone!
Commented Aug 11, 2008 at 08:08:38 in Entertainment
“I basically agree, but I don't think this is as bad as colorization. The upside may be that the more money the StarTrek franchise makes, the more likely it is that Paramount will mount a new show that takes place in the 25th century or later, in a setting that allows for a number of different species to interact, as in DS9. This, I'm sure, would prove much more successful than Enterprise.”
Michael Giltz replied on Aug 11, 2008 at 13:31:10
“I think if the movie works, they'll stick to movies for a while before launching another TV show. The shows sort of undercut the excitement behind a movie and the movies can make so much money and are jsut easier to sustain than a weekly series. Really, another decade without a new ST series on TV is a good idea given how they ran the show into the ground.”
