Blagojevich Evidence Stolen: Burglary At Lawyer's Offices

Blagojevich Evidence Stolen: Burglary At Lawyer's Offices

Commented Dec 04, 2009 at 17:20:53 in Chicago

“There's no way the Feds handed their only original copy to Blago's defense lawyers. This is either a random chance incident, or some sort of a scam or delaying tactic pulled by Blago's lawyers or himself.”

Uncle Bill replied on Dec 04, 2009 at 17:43:38

“You all presume that the prosecution would have possession of all of the evidence in the case and forget that the defense might have evidence of its own to present. Perhaps Blago has some statements or recordings of witnesses, emails etc to use to discredit some of the government's cooperating witnesses.

I really doubt that the FBI or DOJ had anything to do with it, but neither organization is immune to the weaknesses of human nature and they've both done worse to cover their asses in the past.”

“Oh come on. Don't even try to tie Blago and Obama. That would be like tying George Bush to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre's mainiac, because both happened to live in Texas.”

“OK, but W's hands are covered with blood, there were executions in Tejas during W's term as Gov; some blame the events of 9/11/01 on the fact that W ignored the evidence that the WTC & Pentagon were tche chosen targets of opportunity of terrorists who disliked the USA & W did start the war in Iraq on false pretexts. A lot of people have died & continue to die in Iraq. W is soaked in the blood of other people.
Prez Obama has a ways to go before he becomes as blood soaked as W is. But Pres Obama is trying, very trying.”

“My inner cynic wonders if Blago had this theft staged himself, so that cherry-picked bits of the audio can be released by "anonymous sources". And/or, so Blago can blame persecution when he goes to court and loses.”

“This is the *defense* attorney's office. So the evidence still exists, and the Feds still have it - it just means Blago's defense lawyers have to get a new computer and fresh copies.

Now, IF the Feds had anything the do with this robbery - and that's a huge if - then Blago would be at a disadvantage, because the Feds could have an inside look at his defense strategy.

But there's absolutely no need for the Feds to go to such lengths, even if they would morally - Blago is so caught, he might as well start picking out his golf clubs for the country club prison he'll get sent to.”

Granted, he hasn't invaded a country that was no threat to us, or stayed on vacation while a city drowned. But he'll have another 7 years to not do those either, and automatically be better than GWB no matter what else happens.”

Does that actually make sense to you? Please think about it.”

“All of them were managed by some very intelligent campaigners. Knowing that they couldn't support an illusion of superior intelligence of their candidates, they turned the intelligence of the opposition into a negative by portraying them as "elites". That campaign tactic has lead the GOP to where it is today.

If one can win an election by "not" being intelligent isn't that proof of "intelligence"?”
