“Well written David. I commented earlier to a guy's similar assertion on the sports page; this person believes that Tiger Woods is living off of his personal money. Seriously.
My response to him:

'So if this theory holds true, then Madoff also scammed you as well, since he scammed entertainers and actors whose movies you may have watched, right? Tiger Woods won tournaments, they paid him for the tournaments he won. His sponsors paid for the right to put his persona on their products. You have a choice as to what you buy from the store that purchased the goods you bought. You bought what you bought because it was something you needed or wanted. (NBC) It is a stretch to think that somehow what he has earned has ANYTHING to do with you."

This is the second time in a week, I've seen this attempt to lump men of color and caliber into the same pile, asserting that they are somehow always suspect. Folks on the style page of HP, complaining that the President should have not gone to Hawaii, his native home state, he spent too much money for the rental house, when it's HIS money, HIS family, HIS business. Neither man needs the Frank Riches of the world looking over his individual shoulder defining who they are, telling them who they should be and how they should live their lives. You are delusional. Tiger Woods won tournaments, they paid him for the tournaments he won. His sponsors paid him for the right to put his face, his name on their products, hoping for a return on the investments of an increase in product sales. You have a choice as to what you buy, but you don't buy it from him, you buy it from the store that purchased the goods you bought.
