They stressed voting for the candidate that opposed abortion, i.e. BUSH, no matter that he was in the process of slaughtering tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis and causing the death of thousands of our uniformed men and women. We were urged to vote for BUSH!
Here's a news flash: some of us conscientious catholics struggle with the issue of abortion. NO ONE SUPPORTS abortion, we support abortion rights. We all agree that this is a complex, multi-faceted highly emotional issue. It should not be used as a wedge or in this case a weapon to force the downfall of what is in and of itself the complex issue of health care reform.”

Neither the Catholic church or it's bishops have gone after insurance companies for providing for abortion in their policies and they all carry policies that cover abortion. Why do they need to stick their noses into politics? There is supposed to be a separation of church and state. They need to lose their tax exemption status.
