I completely understand what you are saying, that left leaning people should be understanding and patient with these people.

What the vast majority of my liberal and atheist colleges don't understand is that reasonable arguments will not sway unreasonable people. Trying to drag these people up to anything resembling intelligent discourse is completely futile. We've been trying to talk sense into them for years, and we've made compromise after compromise to satisfy their superstitions and stupidity.

If more people would call them out on their stupid beliefs, perhaps we wouldn't be in the situation we are in now. Instead we have to be nice while they flush the country down the toilet in the name of god, the free market, and whatever other ridiculous fact free argument they want to muster.

“The state of copyright laws is pretty disgusting. Companies like the music industry suck the life out of the creative people who do all of the work, while ironically suing others infringing on their copyright and pretend like these people are stealing from the original author.

There needs to be a complete revamp, and companies shouldn't be allowed to hold copyrights at all. Copyrights are made by individuals, and should remain with the individual. If a company wants to purchase a temporary right to distribute, then that should be allowed, but as is companies are just stealing and exploiting hard working people.

I think also what he means is that certain feminists do take equality too far, and cut into mens own rights, effectively going from negative rights (equal treatment) to the idea of positive rights (you have to treat me better than people of a a different sex). The latter being completely wrongheaded.”
