Take the First Step and Support the President

“Duh, health care is for everybody paid for by American taxpayers as long as Americans do not have any Health Care. What is wrong with this picture ... makes you wonder when Americans are used as the cash cow (Peter) to pay for every other country while excluding Americans (Paul). When do Americans get included?
'Borrowing from Peter to pay Paul even when Peter is broke. Don't look for Peter to get paid back, EVER!”

“I agree to a certain point. However, I also believe any and all banksters and Wall Streeters that are "showing a profit" after the disasterous last 18 months should be investigated for fraud and prosecuted with the end result being prison time (not club fed) and the seizing of all assets to be returned to the pensions, charities and other investors who did all the losing on this scam. Then ALL the TBTFs need to be dismantled PERMANENTLY!”

“Being VP didn't stop HW from running against St. Ronnie ... where do you think "voodoo economics" came from?”
Byron1436 replied on Dec 23, 2009 at 02:15:32
“Bush's derision of Reagan's economic philosophies as "Voodoo Economics" came from the 1980 Presidential Primaries, not 1984. Bush was chosen as Reagan's VP to unite the GOP in 1980, as Bush provided him with strong footings in the Northeast. So, Bush ran against Ronald Reagan BEFORE Reagan was President, not after. In fact (and I may be wrong) but I cannot think of any time that a sitting Vice President or even Cabinet member has chosen to run against a sitting President in either party.
Thanks for playing, though.”

“Let's face it, as long as women can be kept out of leadership positions those that feel threatened by strong women will always be in charge. It is easier to keep things the way they are than to embrace change. I never believed that America was a country of cowards but now I'm beginning to wonder. Is it the men that fear a strong woman who can lead or is it other strong women?”
luziannagirl replied on Dec 23, 2009 at 10:03:29
“It's the weak. Both weak women and weak men fear a strong female leader. They gravitate to the strongest of the strong---which is usually a God of some form or fashion, or a man who claims to be led by God. The 10 or 20% who are true leaders---of both sexes---are comfortable with another strong person as leader, regardless of gender.
Generally speaking.”

“I so want the Obama Administration to succeed but the only way that is going to work is if he decides to stand up and BE THE PRESIDENT and stops being a senator. Its now all about leading his base and stop pandering to the obstructionist who will NEVER support any legislation proposed by this president or Democrats. President Obama has wasted this past year trying to work with the Party of NO and all it stands for which is mainly causing the Obama Administration to fail and with it our nation. ENOUGH ALREADY! YES YOU CAN, MR. PRESIDENT!!!! JUST DO IT!”

“He's not trying to work with the Republicans. He doesn't need them. All negotiations on anything is with those of his own party. Blame the GOP all you want but his real problem is with Democrats - and, oh yes, he has bit problems with the voters too. They seem to be disagreeing with him and his party significantly more often than not these days.”

“I'm hoping the same thing but it gets harder every time he comes out in support of legislation that is crafted by lobbyists re: Baucus and the Finance Committee bill that was developed by six senators (3 Repubs and 3 Dems when there should have been 3 Dems, 2 Repubs and 1 Indie (preferrable not Lieberman) that represent less that 2% of America. Why couldn't he have backed the House, Ways and Means bill or the Health and Human Services bill, both of which were 10 times better than the excuse Baucus had written for him by his insurance industry lobbyist cum staffer.”

IT IS NOT PART OF THE CONSTITUTION.”

Campaign finance reform is the ONLY way we are going to be able to remove special interest from politics. If we can get that and elect people that are not bought off, we can eliminate lobbyists.”

“And the best regulators that look the other way, as well as laws passed at the detriment of America. Time to put a stop to this travesty now! Protect America or pay the price. Isn't the Republican / neo-conservative grand? Tilt the playing field in the 2%ers and corporate pirates favor then sit back and watch as America tears itself apart. It is time for the majority to be heard and do the correct (notice I'm not using "right") thing for the citizens of this country. I am beginning to feel like I live in 18th century Europe where the church (Catholic) or the royals own everything and the rest of the population just works hard then dies to be replaced by a new generation of serfs. I do have to admit the GOP knew where they were going when they set out to destroy America, dumb down education and make sure college was unattainable for anybody but the rich. Its working very well for them but for everybody else (80%) it is an unmitigated disaster!”

“You are totally incorrect in your assumptions about me. I as yet do not "have mine" and do not believe the table should be tilted in anyone's favor. Everybody should be entitled to equal opportunity. As for the size of government, it should be as large as it needs to be to administer natural resources, international trade, education, health care and defense (that's defense NOT offensive wars to expand the wallets of arms makers).
