Barack Obama Is Doing My Job; Why America Needs Him to Do His
Commented Oct 28, 2009 at 17:30:05 in Business
“I agree with RusStyles. From the start of the campaign to now, there have always been reasons why Obama does a certain thing in order to get to a certain end. He has always been able to rise above adversity. We may be watching and thinking... huh, how does that make sense? I think in the end Obama will accomplish many of his campaign promises.
Take for example, this sudden stream of power against Iran.
1. Obama made a speech to the muslim world in Egypt and Turkey
2. He's canceled the missile defense system to get on better terms with Russia
3. He played it safe with the Iran Elections
4. He bombarded iran with accusations of a second Nuclear facility at the UN meeting
Everything he does is meant to come to a strategic end.
I love watching him play Chess instead of Bush style checkers.”

“In every account you mentioned he made america weak and the world has noticed.
1 - he appologized for america and nothing positive has happened
2 - he weakened us without getting anything in return
3 - he watched people die in the street
4 - bombarded with accusations...whew! iran basically said we're making a nuclear weapon and you aren't going to do anything about it.”

But the birthers have another argument to throw back at you.
The true definition of "Natural Born Citizen". No court has ever challenged just what that means. The birthers make it seem like they know exactly what the founding fathers meant by that phrase. Please.... thats just utter nonsense.”

Then all of a sudden they took the cars back and the people organized protests because they loved their cars so much.

“It is times like these where i appreciate, Academic Honesty and Critical reading skills I learned in high school and college.
People wonder why democrats have the highest amount of college educated adults as supporters.
The reason is college education teaches you to be a critical thinker, to verify source, to think about issues in broader terms. College students are taught to be accepting of other cultures, religions and ethnicities because of the ethnic diversity of today's colleges.
You can really blame these low information voters. They can't help the fact that they don't know how to find credibility in their sources. They can't help the fact that they think that a person being a muslim automatically makes them a terrorist.
I'm glad to see that the next generation of students are becoming educated and supporting Barack Obama. I'm disappointed in the few college students I see at the McCain rally's”

“You are right. There does seem to be a critical thinking element missing in the koolaid drinkers in the right wing. It is the same reason that Palin, while in the course of being investigated for an ethics and abuse of power violation, could point fingers at Obama's ethics. Or her inability to grasp the realization that while she is bringing up Rev. Wright, there are videos of her being exorcized of witches by a witch-hunter turned Evangelical Preacher.....
I do think that there are aspects of critical thinking that can not be "taught" after a certain age. You either develop them early on or you don't. (maybe?)”

My wife and I comment on how much we were taught and learned in the 60s. My wife is retired from a major university and I retired as an engineer from aerospace. My wife substitute teaches at local high schools, because she has a passion for education, however, she sees that most high school students have no clue about anything and no passion to learn...and think. We heard a lot during the primary, which we knew would fade once the summer break began.
ALL college/university campuses need to get as pumped as they were in January and February, because they are a very important voting block .
I look forward to having the 18 - 25 demographic PROVE THE NAYSAYSERS WRONG, BY GOING OUT TO VOTE IN RECORD NUMBERS.
Because this demographic is seldom polled because they have cell phones, the MSM and others have basically written them off, and have no faith in their passion for real change with Obama.
This demographic is Obama's secret weapon.”

“Yesterday in her Dayton acceptance speech, Palin stated, "...I championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. In fact, I told Congress -- I told Congress, 'Thanks, but no thanks,' on that bridge to nowhere. If our state wanted a bridge, I said we'd build it ourselves."
This was not true.
"Not only did the state keep the money that was earmarked for the bridge to be used on other transportation projects, but Palin had been a strong supporter of the bridge during her gubernatorial run in 2006, claiming Alaska needed to seize upon the seniority of its congressional delegation."
Ethics legislation that was passed in 2007 was two years overdue and supported by the same legislators who looked the other way during the events of the previous administration that pointed out th existing loopholes in the state's ethics laws. It took the FBI raids in August of 2006 and the indictment of former lawmaker Tom Anderson months later to force lawmakers to finally close the loopholes they had ignored for years.

Having a President who professed constitutional law in Academia is big plus in my book.”
